Drivers travelling through several areas of Málaga will need to be aware of temporary traffic changes over the coming days. An audiovisual production taking place between 27 and 31 October will cause short road closures on a number of streets, along with one full closure lasting several hours.

Most of the disruptions will consist of two- to three-minute traffic stops, with vehicles allowed through again as filming progresses. The restrictions have been announced by Málaga Film Office, the municipal department responsible for coordinating audiovisual productions in the city.

Tuesday 27 October: restrictions on Banda del Mar

The first day of filming will affect Calle Banda del Mar.

Traffic will be stopped intermittently between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm on the section between Avenida Salvador Allende and Calle Mar.

The road will not remain closed continuously throughout the day, as the restrictions will only be introduced when required for filming.

Wednesday 28 October: several streets affected

Wednesday will see the largest number of filming locations subject to traffic restrictions.

Midday closures on Villafuerte

Between approximately 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm, traffic will be stopped for short periods on Calle Villafuerte, between El Palustre and Reino de León.

Antón Chéjov, Andrey Brincio and Juan Larrea in the evening

Later that day, between around 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm, further brief restrictions will be introduced.

The affected points will include Calle Antón Chéjov, near number 15; Calle Escritor Andrey Brincio, near number 18; and Calle Juan Larrea, at its junction with Escritor Andrey Brincio.

In each case, the closures are expected to last only a few minutes at a time.

Thursday 29 October: the main road closure of the week

The most significant disruption will take place on Thursday.

From 10:00 am on 29 October until 3:00 am on Friday 30 October, the eastern section of Calle Abogado Victoriano Frías, which ends in a cul-de-sac, will be completely closed to traffic.

Access only for authorised driveways

Unlike the other filming locations, this will not be a series of short interruptions.

Only access to authorised driveways will be permitted while filming is under way, so other drivers will need to use alternative routes.

Friday 30 October: restrictions continue into Saturday morning

The final stage of filming will take place on Calle Practicante Fernández Alcolea.

From 10:00 am on Friday 30 October until 3:00 am on Saturday 31 October, traffic will be stopped intermittently for two to three minutes on the section between Aguilar y Cano and Calle Mar.

The last traffic restrictions will therefore continue into the early hours of Saturday morning.

Which streets in Málaga will be affected?

The streets included in the filming schedule are:

Banda del Mar, Villafuerte, Antón Chéjov, Escritor Andrey Brincio, Juan Larrea, Abogado Victoriano Frías and Practicante Fernández Alcolea.

Most of the restrictions are concentrated in eastern Málaga, although timings and the level of disruption vary considerably from one location to another.

Advice for drivers using these areas

Although most closures will be brief, queues may form at certain times if traffic builds up while filming is taking place.

Drivers planning to use the affected streets may therefore want to allow extra time and consider alternative routes where possible.

The municipal notice does not identify the production being filmed and does not specify any changes to local bus services.

Málaga continues to attract audiovisual productions

Temporary traffic restrictions are a common requirement for productions using city streets and public spaces as filming locations.

Málaga Film Office coordinates these shoots with different municipal departments, helping to organise permits, locations and any necessary changes to mobility.

In this case, the filming schedule will run across five days, with the final restrictions ending in the early hours of Saturday 31 October.
