Opened in 1968, the Old Course, designed by Bernhard von Limburger, is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf courses on the Costa del Sol. The designer was responsible for developing 74 golf courses across Europe, although Atalaya Golf is the only course he designed in Spain. The New Course was inaugurated in 1990 and was designed by Paul Krings. Unlike many other golf courses on the coast, Atalaya Golf was created as a golf club from the start and without intentions of real estate developments. This heritage allows both members and visitors to enjoy playing golf in a natural environment without interference from real estate promotions in the game. Since its inception, Atalaya Golf was created as an open golf destination, where members and visitors would find a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Indeed, a characteristic of the club is its diversity of nationalities, with more than 36 different nationalities, who enjoy golf in the sunniest place in Spain. The diversity attracts visitors from all over Europe and many more distant countries. Throughout its history, the club has made numerous investments in its two golf courses and facilities. Discover the Cabopino Golf Marbella CourseCabopino Golf is located at the easternmost end of Marbella, opposite the Cabopino marina. It features an 18-hole course designed by architect Juan Ligués Creus, offering spectacular views of the Mediterranean and beautiful vegetation, including magnificent wide-canopy pines.The layout includes three par 3s, two par 5s, and the rest are par 4s. The longest hole is the 14th, a par 5 measuring 456 meters with a wide and undulating green protected by lakes both in front and behind. The most spectacular hole is undoubtedly the 3rd, which, according to numerous comments, is one of the most beautiful on the Costa del Sol, a par 4 with an elevated tee and the green surrounded by bunkers on a slope of about 80 meters. Also noteworthy are holes 13 and 15, both par 3s protected by lakes, and hole 10, which offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea.
