José María Pou plays celebrated author Roald Dahl in Giant, Mark Rosenblatt’s acclaimed play inspired by real events.
Set in the summer of 1983, the story finds Dahl preparing his latest book for publication while facing the fallout from controversial public comments. Over the course of a single afternoon at his home, he is forced to decide whether to issue a public apology or risk his reputation.
Directed by Josep Maria Mestres, the play examines the boundaries between freedom of expression, prejudice, personal opinion and public responsibility while presenting a complex portrait of the author behind Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Witches.
