Hispanic Day in Marbella 2026: Programme, Times and Activities


Marbella will celebrate Spain’s National Day with official ceremonies, music, food and traditions from 7 to 15 October. The programme includes the Hispanic Festival at Parque de La Represa, flag-raising ceremonies, a procession in honour of Our Lady of the Pillar and a series of talks.

Marbella’s Hispanic Day Programme

Marbella has prepared an extensive programme to mark Hispanic Day and Spain’s National Day in 2026. Activities will begin on 7 October and continue until 15 October at different venues in Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara.

The schedule combines official ceremonies, cultural events, music, food and religious celebrations. Marbella Town Hall will also decorate streets and public spaces with more than 120 Spanish flags and banners.

More than 500 Spanish flags will be distributed free of charge between 7 and 11 October. Collection points will include the tourist offices in Plaza de los Naranjos, El Faro and San Pedro Alcántara, as well as the Las Chapas and Nueva Andalucía district offices and the Citizen Participation Department.

Hispanic Festival at Parque de La Represa

One of the main attractions will be the third Marbella Hispanic Festival, taking place from 9 to 12 October at Parque de La Represa.

The festival will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday 9 October. On the remaining days, the site will open from 1:00 p.m. until midnight with free access to the programme.

Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela will have individual areas showcasing their food, music, folklore and traditions. Almost 14,000 residents from these ten countries are currently registered in Marbella.

Approximately 40 performances are planned, including shows presented by participating associations and professional flamenco and tango productions.

Latin American Food and Live Performances

Visitors will be able to try traditional dishes including Argentinian empanadas, Colombian and Venezuelan arepas, Peruvian ceviche, Cuban ropa vieja, Bolivian salteñas, Paraguayan soup and recipes from Mexico, Ecuador and Chile.

Argentinian artist Roxana Carabajal will perform on Sunday 11 October at 6:00 p.m. Unidos Perú will take to the stage one hour later at 7:00 p.m.

The programme will also feature Moni Kabana, Dúo Mariachi Jalisco, dance group Koraí Paraguay, singer Talin, Nixon Rodríguez and several cultural groups representing Latin American communities in Marbella.

Music of the Americas Concert in San Pedro Alcántara

Ahead of the Hispanic Festival, the Four Hands: Music of the Americas concert will take place on Thursday 8 October at Teatro La Alcoholera in San Pedro Alcántara.

The performance will begin at 8:00 p.m. and feature Colombian soprano Marcela Daza and the Alonso de Proteau duo, formed by pianists Mercedes Alonso and Pierre Proteau.

The concert will explore the musical and cultural diversity of the Americas. Tickets can be requested through the email address provided by the organisers.

Flag-Raising Ceremonies on 12 October

The principal official events will take place on Monday 12 October. The day will begin in the morning with the raising of the Spanish flag outside the San Pedro Alcántara District Office.

The Municipal Band will perform the Spanish National Anthem during the ceremony. A second flag-raising event will follow at the Cortijo Miraflores Cultural Centre at 10:30 a.m.

Marbella Town Hall will also participate in the Guardia Civil’s celebrations honouring Our Lady of the Pillar, the force’s patron saint. Mass will begin at Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Church at 11:00 a.m., followed by an official ceremony at the Plaza Leganitos barracks at 12:15 p.m.

Our Lady of the Pillar Procession in Marbella

The Pilar Miraflores neighbourhood will also celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Pillar. A floral offering organised by the Vázquez Clavel Pilar Miraflores Residents’ Association will take place during the morning.

Mass will be held at Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Church at 7:00 p.m. The image will then be carried in procession from the church back to the neighbourhood.

These events will complete a day dedicated to both Spain’s National Day and the patron saint of the Guardia Civil.

Talks on Spain’s Influence in the United States

The cultural programme will continue from 13 to 15 October with a series of talks entitled Spain’s Powerful Influence on the United States. Every session will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Hospital Real de la Misericordia Cultural Centre.

Guillermo Fesser will participate on Tuesday 13, José Luis López-Linares on Wednesday 14 and Paco Reyero will close the series on Thursday 15.
