Los Naranjos park in Nueva Andalucía is undergoing an expansion that will add more than 700 square metres and renew a large part of its facilities. Once the work is completed, this public space in Marbella will cover more than 1,900 square metres.

The project aims to turn the park into a more versatile area for families, children and users of different ages, combining play zones with small sports facilities and seating areas.

The works also include improvements to the flooring, street furniture, fencing and the immediate surroundings of the park.

More than 700 additional square metres

One of the main changes will be the increase in available space.

The park will gain more than 700 square metres, allowing the area to be reorganised and new facilities to be added without concentrating all activity in the existing zones.

According to Marbella Town Hall, the aim is to make better use of the available land and create a larger outdoor leisure space.

Once the project is complete, the total surface area will exceed 1,900 square metres.

New mini football goals and mini-basketball hoops

The expansion will include several features designed to encourage physical activity.

The park will have two mini football goals and two mini-basketball hoops, aimed particularly at children and young people.

The idea is to introduce simple sports options within the recreational area without turning it into a conventional sports facility.

These features will be complemented by different games and circuits marked directly on the ground.

Games and circuits painted on the pavement

Another new feature will be the inclusion of games marked on the pavement.

This type of design allows the ground itself to become part of the recreational area, creating circuits and activities that can be used freely.

The project therefore aims to increase the number of ways the park can be enjoyed without relying only on swings or other fixed play structures.

The result will be a space with more options for play and movement.

New artificial grass

One of the main elements of the expansion will be the installation of artificial grass.

The work forms part of the new recreational area and is being carried out alongside the construction of the new perimeter pavement.

The grass will help distinguish different areas within the park and provide a more suitable surface for certain activities.

Its installation is part of the phase currently under way.

200 square metres of rubber flooring to be replaced

The project is not limited to expanding the park.

Existing areas will also be renewed.

The plans include the replacement of 200 square metres of rubber flooring in the children’s play areas.

This type of surface is commonly used to reduce the impact of falls and improve safety and comfort for younger users.

The renewal will replace worn sections and update the play area.

Benches and litter bins will also be renewed

Street furniture is another part of the project.

The works include the replacement of benches and litter bins, as well as improvements to tree pits.

These measures are intended to improve both the functionality and overall appearance of the park.

The aim is not only to create more space, but also to upgrade the areas already used by local residents.

New fencing around the park

The works are also progressing with the installation of new fencing.

The current enclosure will be replaced with a new one adapted to the expanded perimeter.

At the same time, a new perimeter pavement is being built to improve access and define the enlarged park area.

These works are necessary to incorporate the additional 700-plus square metres into the site.

Cleaning and clearing work around the site

The project also includes cleaning and landscaping work.

The plans provide for clearing vegetation around the area, with the aim of improving visibility and creating a more orderly environment.

This is especially relevant around the boundaries of the park and in the land being incorporated into the usable space.

The intention is for the expanded park to integrate more effectively into the wider Los Naranjos and Nueva Andalucía area.

A park designed for different age groups

The combination of games, mini football goals, basketball hoops, circuits and seating areas is intended to broaden the range of people who can use the park.

It will not be aimed exclusively at very young children.

The new facilities will offer activities for different age groups and encourage shared use by families.

Marbella Town Hall presents the project as a way of creating a more dynamic public space with more possibilities for everyday use.

An upgrade in a residential area of Nueva Andalucía

Los Naranjos is located in Nueva Andalucía, one of Marbella’s main residential districts.

The expansion aims to improve local facilities for people living in the area and create a nearby leisure space for everyday use.

The project forms part of wider municipal work to renovate parks, green areas and public spaces across different districts of Marbella.

A renewed space for outdoor leisure and sport

Once the work is completed, Los Naranjos park will offer more space and a different layout.

The new design will combine play areas, small sports facilities, artificial grass, new street furniture and renovated surfaces.

The project is intended to strengthen the park’s role as a meeting place for residents of Nueva Andalucía.

With more than 1,900 square metres, the site will offer greater opportunities to spend time outdoors without needing to travel to other parts of Marbella.
