What to Do in Fuengirola in September 2026: Free Films, Science Talks and Exhibitions

Two Free Ocean Documentaries

Casa de la Cultura Manuel Delgado Perea will screen two documentaries in their original language with subtitles. Soul of the Ocean is scheduled for Tuesday 15 September at 8:00 p.m., followed by Ocean with David Attenborough on Tuesday 22 September at the same time.

Both screenings, presented in collaboration with Bioparc Fuengirola, offer free admission subject to capacity. They provide an easy way to spend an evening exploring marine life through film.

Two Open Talks on Space Exploration

At the same cultural centre, Valeriano Claros Guerra will discuss NASA’s plans to return to the Moon in his From Apollo to Artemis talk on Wednesday 16 September at 7:30 p.m. On Thursday 17 September, also at 7:30 p.m., Jesús Jiménez Ibáñez will examine the history and challenges of crewed spaceflight.

Both talks are free, subject to capacity. No advance registration is mentioned.

Old Photographs, Wildlife and Construction Toys

Several exhibitions offer plans that do not depend on a single event date. On the Los Boliches seafront, near the Roman monument, an outdoor display marking Bioparc Fuengirola’s 25th anniversary remains in place until 18 October.

At the Casa de la Cultura, Imágenes de Fuengirola. Años 60 brings together photographs of the town in the 1960s. It runs until 9 October and is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 4:00–10:00 p.m.

From 21 September to 6 November, the City Museum will host an exhibition devoted to the Tente construction toy. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday, 5:00–9:00 p.m., and weekends and public holidays, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 5:00–9:00 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays. Admission prices for these exhibitions are not specified in the municipal announcement.

A Charity Dance Show and a Free Competition

On Saturday 19 September at 7:00 p.m., the Palacio de la Paz will host Bailando para recordar, a dance performance supporting AFA Fuengirola-Mijas. Admission is an €8 donation, with tickets available through the association’s centres and charity shop.

The same venue will stage the first Desafío Novel bodybuilding championship on Saturday 26 September, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. A nutrition and posing workshop begins at 10:30 a.m., weigh-in takes place at 3:00 p.m., and the competition starts at 5:00 p.m. Admission is free, subject to capacity.
