A Weekend of Manga and International Cultures

The Costa del Sol Manga Festival will take place at the Conference Centre from 18 to 20 September. Estepona’s tourism calendar confirms the dates and venue but does not give a ticket price, so check admission details before visiting.

The seafront will also host three Compartiendo Culturas events. Italian Culture Day takes place on Saturday 19 September, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m., near the Monument to the Peseta. UK Culture Day follows at the same location and times on Saturday 26 September. Ukrainian Culture Day is scheduled for Sunday 27 September, from noon to 9:00 p.m., on the seafront. Admission prices are not specified in the calendar.

Live Music, Flamenco and Theatre

Two concerts are scheduled at Huber Art & Food, 27 Calle San Antonio. The Stolen Gnomes will bring Celtic fusion, soul and blues to the venue on Friday 18 September at 8:00 p.m. Corkery Hot Club will perform gypsy jazz there on Saturday 19 September at 8:00 p.m. Each show costs €20, payable in cash; bookings can be made on 608 359 656.

On Friday 25 September, Pablo Puyol, Miguel Ángel Martín and Álvaro Carrero will perform the comedy Nada… at Teatro Felipe VI at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are available through the theatre website or at the box office from two hours before the show. At 9:30 p.m., a flamenco performance featuring Delia Membrive, Carmen Ríos, Cristóbal García and Carlos Haro will take place at the Peña Flamenca in Plaza Fuerzas Armadas. Booking numbers are listed, but no price is given.

Fashion Takes Over the Orchid Garden

The 10th Estepona Fashion Week runs from Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 September at the Parque Botánico-Orquidario, with events listed for 8:00 p.m. The final evening includes the 7th Young Designers Competition. The calendar does not confirm whether admission to the shows is free.

Free Film, Literature and Art

The Contemporary Cultures Library at Mirador del Carmen has three confirmed free events. On Tuesday 22 September at 8:00 p.m., it will host a book presentation and poetry recital featuring Enrique Juncosa. A reading club discussing Thomas Mann’s Buddenbrooks follows on Wednesday 23 September at 6:00 p.m. Both are free, subject to capacity.

On Tuesday 29 September at 7:00 p.m., the library’s Cine en la Octava series will turn its attention to Sofia Coppola. Admission is free, but advance registration is required at bcc@estepona.es.

Until 19 September, visitors can also see Alejandro Hermann’s exhibition De la figura a la materia at Mirador del Carmen. Admission is free; opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 5:00–8:00 p.m.
