Two Days of Discussion on Diversity and Rights

The Sixth International LGBTI Congress of Andalusia will take place at the Torremolinos Conference Centre on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 September 2026. Organised by the Andalusian regional government, it will bring together professionals and specialists to discuss LGBTI rights, support for families and ways to prevent LGBTI-phobia.

This year’s programme focuses on settings where inclusion remains a challenge, including schools, sports organisations and public services. Talks and panel discussions will be complemented by cultural activities.

Intersex Experiences and Sport on Day One

The congress will open on Tuesday 22 September with an institutional welcome, followed by a talk from writer and educator Mer Gómez on intersex experiences and bodily diversity. A panel discussion will then examine the lack of visibility and the prejudices faced by intersex people.

In the afternoon, speakers from sports clubs and inclusion projects will discuss barriers to participation and ways to make sport more welcoming. The first day will close with a presentation of Orgullo Andaluz and a performance by singer-songwriter UCEDA.

Education and Public Policy on Day Two

Wednesday’s programme will begin with a discussion on how to create educational spaces free from LGBTI-phobia. It will also include a screening of the short film Las Moscas del Vinagre.

The final talk will consider cooperation between Spain and Mexico on more inclusive public policies. A closing ceremony featuring Málaga’s Higher School of Dramatic Art will bring the congress to an end.

Free Registration

Registration is free through the official congress website. The Andalusian regional government says the event is accredited by its Institute of Public Administration; anyone seeking that accreditation should check the applicable eligibility requirements.
