Pasión Bandolera 2026 – El Burgo Travels Back to 1840

Event details

9 October 2026 until 11 October 2026

The Málaga village of El Burgo will travel back to 1840 for the 13th edition of Pasión Bandolera, a major historical re-enactment that will transform its streets for three days.

More than 300 participants, many of them local residents, will dress in 19th-century costume and bring bandits, villagers and other period characters to life. The village becomes a large open-air stage featuring more than twenty theatrical scenes, parades, traditional taverns, food, crafts and activities for different ages.

The 2026 storyline once again centres on Agustina, who arrives in El Burgo with José as part of the travelling theatre company Las Finitas de Jerez. Their arrival leads into a story involving secrets, family conflicts, adventure and the emergence of a group of bandits.

Pasión Bandolera is officially recognised as a Provincial Tourist Festival of Special Interest and combines theatre, local history, popular culture and traditions connected to the bandit heritage of the Serranía de Ronda and Sierra de las Nieves.
