Breast Cancer Walks in Málaga and the Costa del Sol: Dates and Activities


Antequera, Fuengirola, Mijas, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Coín, Nerja and Torrox will hold solidarity walks throughout October. The provincial programme also includes talks, information stands, buildings illuminated in pink and a fundraising gala at Higuerón Resort.

More Than 150 Activities in October

The Spanish Association Against Cancer has organised more than 150 activities across Málaga province to mark World Breast Cancer Day on 19 October.

The programme aims to raise awareness, promote prevention and early diagnosis, and demonstrate support for patients and their families.

All 13 local branches in the province will participate, including Estepona, Marbella, Fuengirola, Mijas, Benalmádena, Torremolinos, Rincón de la Victoria, Torrox, Nerja, Antequera, Ronda, Coín and Alhaurín de la Torre.

Breast Cancer Walk Calendar

Solidarity walks will be one of the campaign’s main activities. Following Marbella’s Pink Tide event on 4 October, further walks will take place across Málaga and the Costa del Sol.

Antequera will hold its walk on Saturday 17 October. Events in Fuengirola and Mijas, Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Coín will follow on Sunday 18 October.

The calendar will conclude on Sunday 25 October with walks organised by the association’s branches in Nerja and Torrox.

Routes, starting times and registration arrangements may vary, so participants should consult the information published by their local Spanish Association Against Cancer branch.

Information Stands and Pink Illuminations

The campaign will install 75 information stands in more than 25 municipalities. They will provide details about prevention, support and the free services available to patients and families.

Association offices, town halls and prominent buildings will also be illuminated in pink to show support for people affected by breast cancer.

Approximately 350 businesses will participate in the Foco Solidario initiative by displaying pink ribbons and taking part in a shop-window competition.

Free Talks Across the Costa del Sol

The “Let’s Talk About Cancer” programme will address medical, emotional and social aspects of the disease. Torremolinos will host a session about hormonal changes on 15 October, while Ronda will present “Beyond the Diagnosis” on the same day.

Benalmádena will host “Talking to My Healthcare Professionals” on 20 October, followed by a healthy breakfast event in Fuengirola on 21 October.

Further sessions will take place in Alhaurín de la Torre, Rincón de la Victoria, Torrox, Estepona and Marbella during the remainder of the month.

A Solidarity Event on Calle Larios

A public activity will be held at Calle Marqués de Larios 11 in Málaga on Monday 19 October.

Passers-by will be invited to take a photograph using a mirrored display, share it on social media and make a donation to the association’s programmes.

The initiative will coincide with World Breast Cancer Day and help increase the visibility of patients’ needs.

Higuerón Solidarity Gala 2026

The provincial programme will include the Higuerón Solidarity Gala on Saturday 24 October. Funds raised will support cancer research and the free services provided in Fuengirola, Mijas, Benalmádena and Torremolinos.

The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Higuerón Hotel Curio Collection by Hilton. Michelin-starred chef Diego Gallegos of Sollo restaurant will prepare a special tapas menu.

Hosted by Federico de Juan, the gala will feature performances by Encarni Navarro, Cantando Bajito, Señor Mirinda and Vintage Experience. Tickets cost €70.

Free Support for Patients and Families

During the past year, the Spanish Association Against Cancer supported 1,125 breast cancer patients in Málaga through 8,374 professional care sessions.

Services include psychological support, social and legal advice, physiotherapy, nutrition, speech therapy and loans of orthopaedic and prosthetic equipment. These services are free for patients and their families.
