Mijas is ready for one of its biggest weeks of the year. From Monday 7 to Saturday 12 September, Mijas Pueblo will celebrate its 2026 Fair, combining live music, local traditions, family activities and daytime festivities.

The musical programme is headlined by Camela, Medina Azahara, Marta Quintero and Alba Dreid, while celebrations began warming up on Sunday 6 with the traditional opening speech by Mijas-born journalist Mari Carmen Jaime at the Miguel González Berral Auditorium.

The fair begins with giants, big-headed figures and the switching on of the lights

The official programme begins on Monday 7 September with the traditional parade of giants and big-headed figures, leaving Mijas Town Hall at 7:00 pm.

At 10:00 pm, the decorative fair lights will be switched on and the fairground officially opened.

The evening will also include the election of the king, queen, ladies and their companions for the 2026 Mijas Fair.

8 September: the big day for the Virgen de la Peña

Tuesday 8 September will be one of the most traditional days of the programme as Mijas celebrates the feast of the Virgen de la Peña, patron saint and perpetual mayoress of the town.

Morning religious celebrations will take place at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, while the Daytime Fair will open at La Muralla from 1:30 pm.

In the evening, at around 9:00 pm, the Virgen de la Peña will take part in the traditional procession through the streets of Mijas Pueblo.

Camela performs for free on Wednesday 9

One of the most anticipated concerts will take place on Wednesday 9 September.

Camela will perform at 11:00 pm in the Municipal Marquee, with free admission until full capacity is reached.

The day will also feature activities aimed at younger visitors before the evening music programme begins.

Medina Azahara, Marta Quintero and Alba Dreid complete the line-up

Music will continue throughout the fair.

On Thursday 10 September, legendary Andalusian rock group Medina Azahara will perform in the Municipal Marquee at midnight.

Friday 11 will include the traditional dinner honouring the municipality’s senior residents, followed by a performance from Marta Quintero at 11:30 pm.

The fair will come to an end on Saturday 12 September with a programme aimed particularly at younger audiences, featuring DJs Michael Stiven and Cohelo and a live performance by Alba Dreid.

Main concerts at Mijas Fair 2026

  • Thursday 10: Medina Azahara – midnight – Municipal Marquee.
  • Friday 11: Marta Quintero – 11:30 pm – Municipal Marquee.

Daytime Fair at La Muralla

La Muralla will once again become one of the main meeting points during the celebrations.

From Tuesday 8, the area will host the Daytime Fair, with live music, bars and entertainment providing a different atmosphere from the fairground during the afternoon.

The programme spreads the festivities across different parts of Mijas Pueblo, allowing visitors to enjoy the fair from lunchtime until late at night.

Bikes, horses and traditional activities to close the fair

Saturday 12 will feature one of the most varied programmes of the week.

A bike ride is scheduled for 11:00 am, while the Daytime Fair continues at La Muralla.

At around 6:00 pm, the traditional mock bull run will take place, followed at 7:00 pm by the horse parade.

Music will then take over for the final night of the 2026 festivities.

Shuttle buses to reach Mijas Fair without driving into the village

Mijas Town Hall has organised a special transport service to make it easier to reach Mijas Pueblo during the fair.

A fleet of ten shuttle buses will connect the village with La Cala, Las Lagunas, Osunillas and the quarry area, reducing the need to drive directly into the centre.

The quarry shuttle will operate every day from 10:00 am until 4:30 am, while the last buses from Mijas Pueblo to all four destinations will leave at 5:00 am.

The M-122 route between Fuengirola and Mijas will also receive additional night services during the festivities.

With six days of concerts, daytime celebrations, traditions and family activities, Mijas Pueblo will once again become one of the main places to celebrate September on the Costa del Sol, with the Virgen de la Peña at the heart of the festivities and free live music providing some of the biggest attractions.

The full schedule, times and activities can be found in the official information for Mijas Fair 2026 published by Mijas Town Hall.
