Bioparc Fuengirola turns August evenings into an experience of nature, animals and live shows

Summer on the Costa del Sol can also be enjoyed away from the beach. Bioparc Fuengirola has become one of Málaga province’s family-friendly leisure options this August thanks to a special programme that allows visitors to explore the park well into the evening and discover its ecosystems in a very different atmosphere from the hottest hours of the day.

Throughout July and August, the park is open daily from 10 am to 11 pm, making it easier to visit when temperatures begin to fall. Its usual route is complemented by educational activities, keeper talks, guided visits and special performances.

A jungle in the heart of Fuengirola

Bioparc is based on the concept of zoo-immersion, with areas designed to recreate ecosystems from Equatorial Africa, Southeast Asia, Madagascar, Central and South America and the Indo-Pacific islands.

Vegetation, water features, rocks and other natural elements are used to create environments that resemble the animals’ original habitats as closely as possible. The experience combines leisure with education about biodiversity and conservation.

During the summer, visitors can also join visits to Madagascar Island, where lemurs can be observed without visible barriers, as well as shorter guided visits around different areas of the park.

Keeper talks and animal activities at sunset

The daily programme includes keeper talks at 12.30 pm and 6 pm, giving visitors the chance to learn more about how different species are cared for, from feeding and veterinary routines to the work carried out to support their welfare.

At 2 pm and 10 pm, an educational activity takes place in the forest clearing area, focusing on birds and mammals. Visitors can observe behaviours linked to finding food, avoiding predators and other aspects of animal life.

The second session, held at night, is one of the most distinctive features of the summer programme.

‘Guardians of the Dawn’, the big new attraction this summer

One of the main additions in 2026 is ‘Guardians of the Dawn’, a night-time show inspired by the symbolic world of Mayan civilisation.

The performance combines dance, acrobatics, live percussion, fire choreography, costumes and visual effects to tell a story about the relationship between people and nature.

Its characters draw on elements of Mayan cosmology, including the Ceiba tree, the Jaguar, the Moon, the Monkey and the Corn Seed.

The public premiere sold out completely, and following its strong reception, the show continues every Thursday in July and August at 10 pm.

A specific ticket for the performance costs €12 and provides access only to the show, without requiring a full daytime visit to the park.

African dances to end the summer evening

The rest of the week also includes special evening entertainment. From Friday to Wednesday, Bioparc presents African dance performances at 10.30 pm, combining percussion and dance inspired by different African traditions.

This activity is included in the general admission ticket. It does not take place on Thursdays, when Guardians of the Dawn is scheduled instead.

A different way to enjoy Costa del Sol evenings

The extended timetable makes Bioparc an appealing option after a day at the beach or for families looking for something to do during the cooler evening hours.

The summer programme also includes the ‘The Last Frontier’ virtual reality experience, educational routes and conservation-focused activities.

In addition, Bioparc is organising free activities on Fuengirola’s beaches for children aged 6 to 12 on 9, 16 and 23 August, from 11 am to 1 pm.

With this programme, the park goes beyond the traditional daytime visit and offers a full experience from morning to night, combining animals, education, culture and live entertainment in the centre of Fuengirola.
