San Pedro Alcántara is now fully into its 2026 fair celebrations. Following the official opening last night at the La Caridad fairground, the event continues this Wednesday 14 October with its first full day of activities.

The fairground will remain active until Monday 19 October, becoming one of the main meeting points in San Pedro Alcántara for the entire week.

This year it features 22 casetas, more than 4,000 parking spaces and around 500,000 LED lights.

An 83,000-square-metre fairground

The fair is once again being held at Finca La Caridad, a site covering approximately 83,000 square metres and designed to accommodate casetas, fairground rides, performances and activities for all ages.

Over recent weeks, work has been carried out to improve gardens, electrical installations, access points, drainage and shared areas.

More than 4,000 flowers and plants have also been added to enhance the appearance of the fairground.

Half a million lights for the evenings

One of the most eye-catching elements will once again be the decorative lighting.

The installation includes more than 500,000 LED lights, spread across around 4,000 strings of lights, 51 arches and the large entrance gateway.

The lighting will provide the backdrop for the fair every evening throughout the week.

More than 4,000 parking spaces

To make access easier for residents and visitors, the site has capacity for more than 4,000 vehicles.

The Traffic Department has prepared access roads and parking areas around La Caridad.

Even so, visitors are advised to allow extra time for journeys during the busiest periods.

Reinforced security throughout the week

A major security operation will remain in place for the duration of the celebrations.

The fairground is equipped with 29 CCTV cameras, while more than 200 professionals are expected to be involved in the overall security operation.

The fact that La Caridad is an enclosed site also makes it easier to control access and organise the different areas.

The Day Fair begins this Wednesday

Today’s programme includes the official opening of the Day Fair at 1:30 pm.

Before that, Senior Citizens’ Day begins at 1:00 pm in the Mi Hogar caseta.

At 2:00 pm, a joint lunch is scheduled for members of the San Pedro Alcántara I, II and III active participation centres.

The afternoon programme continues at 4:00 pm with live music and dancing.

Horse riding and performances

Between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm, horse riding will take place around the fairground.

Later in the afternoon, the Palenque Municipal will host a performance by the New Gym Aerosport Modern Dance Academy at 6:00 pm.

Live music will continue into the evening.

Children’s Day and a noise-reduced fair

Families have an especially attractive option today.

From 7:00 pm, Children’s Day will offer special prices on fairground rides.

In addition, between 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm, the fair will hold its noise-reduced period.

During this time, sound levels on rides and attractions will be lowered to make the fair more accessible for people with noise sensitivity and their families.

Live music to close the day

The programme will end with another musical event.

At 10:00 pm, the Palenque Municipal will welcome Garage Band Pop & Rock.

It will round off a first full day combining family activities, tradition, dancing and live music.

A full week of celebrations until 19 October

The San Pedro Alcántara Fair and Festivities will continue until next Monday.

The programme includes casetas, rides, food, family activities and free concerts.

Over the coming days, artists including Camela, OBK, Modestia Aparte and Pasión Vega are also scheduled to perform, alongside local acts and events linked to the traditions of San Pedro Alcántara.

With the Day Fair now open and the fairground running at full pace, San Pedro is entering the central days of one of its most important annual celebrations.
