The One: the Mijas burger competing to be crowned the best in Spain in 2026
Dak Burger won over the public at The Champions Burger in Las Lagunas with a recipe featuring Black Angus beef, cheddar, pulled pork and bacon. After winning the Mijas stop and the Local Favourite award, the burger has now reached the national final in Leganés.
Mijas has its own contender in the race to become Spain’s Best Burger 2026. Its name is The One, it was created by local restaurant Dak Burger, and it has just been crowned the winner of the Mijas edition of The Champions Burger, held at the Las Lagunas fairground.
The burger beat 16 other entries and received two awards: first place overall and Local Favourite.
Now the challenge is even bigger. Dak Burger has travelled to Leganés, Madrid, where the national final of The Champions Burger is being held from 10 to 27 September.
What is inside The One?
The recipe focuses on bold flavours and a rich combination of meat, cheese and bacon.
The One starts with a bacon bun topped with Parmesan, filled with a medallion of Black Angus rib-eye beef, mature red cheddar and pulled pork.
It is finished with American BBQ sauce, crispy cheddar, a cheese and bacon cream and New York sauce, creating a mix of smoky, creamy and crunchy textures.
That combination made it the most popular burger among visitors during the Mijas stop of the competition.
Dak Burger wins two awards on home ground
The victory is particularly significant because Dak Burger was the local Mijas representative in an event featuring some of the best-known burger restaurants on the national circuit.
The La Cala de Mijas restaurant not only topped the overall ranking but also received the Local Favourite award.
The competition was decided through public voting, meaning visitors themselves ultimately placed The One at the top of the podium.
Gladiadora and Umami Royale complete the podium
The competition in Mijas was close.
Second place went to The Vicbros Burger with Gladiadora, made with a pretzel-style brioche bun, Simmental beef, mature cheddar, bacon jam, smoked bacon mayonnaise, crispy onion and pecorino cheese.
Third place went to Godeo with Umami Royale, a burger notable for its brioche bun decorated with gold leaf. Inside, it combines rib-eye beef with bourbon-caramelised cured beef, Korean mayonnaise, truffled Parmesan, bacon and several sauces.
The three burgers finished at the top of a field of 17 competing creations.
The national final is already under way in Leganés
After winning in Mijas, The One is now aiming for the national title.
The 2026 The Champions Burger Spanish Final is taking place from 10 to 27 September at the Leganés fairground, bringing together some of the highest-rated burgers from this year’s tour.
Once again, visitors will play a key role in deciding the winner by tasting and rating the different entries.
The final also includes much more than food, with more than 30 food trucks, live music, DJ sessions and free entertainment and attractions.
A burger from Mijas now aiming for the national crown
The success of The One has made Dak Burger one of the names to watch during the final stage of the competition.
It first won over the public in Mijas and now faces some of the strongest burgers from across Spain.
The winner of the title of Spain’s Best Burger 2026 will be announced on 27 September.
Until then, Mijas has its own representative in the national competition: a burger created in La Cala, chosen as the best during the local stop and now hoping to repeat that success against the country’s top contenders.
The Mijas results, The One’s ingredients and details of the national final can be found on the official pages for The Champions Burger Mijas 2026 and The Champions Burger Leganés 2026.
