Dorobe Hotels, founded in 2016 and based in Torremolinos, has purchased the San Fermín hotel, located in Benalmádena and one of the emblems of the tourist development of the Costa del Sol. With this acquisition, the group activates an expansion plan that wants to focus on Andalusia and the Spanish coast. "Our goal is to build a solid, profitable hotel platform with the capacity for sustained growth," says Oscar Bacardit, CEO of Dorobe. Therefore, he points out that the purchase of the San Fermín hotel "represents a very relevant operation and marks the beginning of a new stage of expansion through selective acquisitions in destinations where we see strong tourist demand and opportunities for the development and implementation of synergies."

In this line, this Andalusian chain, also present in Torremolinos, Nerja, and Granada, advances that it is currently analyzing several investment opportunities in holiday hotel establishments that allow increasing its presence in key markets of the Spanish Mediterranean. This group has its sights set on "medium and large assets that can benefit from the implementation of synergies at all levels and a commercial repositioning aligned with current demand."

Dorobe's goal is to "become one of the leading independent hotel groups in the holiday segment in Andalusia and in the national scene, betting on a model based on disciplined growth, operational excellence, and long-term vision," they detail. The roadmap outlined, the chain ensures that it contemplates combining own resources and strategic alliances to accelerate future operations over the coming months.

The hotel has 316 rooms and is 800 meters from the Benalmádena marina.

On his Linkedin account, the CEO of Dorobe states that the purchase of the San Fermín hotel, with 316 rooms, is a milestone that "not only strengthens our presence on the Costa del Sol but reflects the ambition and commitment we have with our project." He claims that this operation "is much more than a purchase: it is the continuation of a long-term vision," and acknowledges that none of this "would be possible without the accompaniment of great professionals." The establishment is located 800 meters from the Benalmádena marina and has 10,655 square meters of built area distributed in two buildings and 4,000 square meters of green areas, and facilities that include two swimming pools, a tennis court, bar, restaurant, and two parking lots.

It is worth remembering that the San Fermín hotel represents one of the pillars of the Costa del Sol's tourist model. Opened in the mid-70s, during the peak of Malaga's urban development, it was built by the Basque businessman Fermín Aguirre and managed until 2021 by his family. In that year, it was acquired by the investment group Navis Capital Desarrollo, which delegated its management to the THB chain. The construction of this three-star hotel marked a turning point in Benalmádena, transforming the landscape of an area that was beginning to leave its agricultural and fishing past to become a cosmopolitan center. San Fermín personified the democratization of vacations, offering modern infrastructures and accommodation capacity that allowed massive access to European tourists. Over five decades, the hotel has managed to evolve without losing its identity, undergoing several complete renovations and being considered a key piece in the development of the Benalmádena Costa axis as an epicenter of international family entertainment.
