San Juan Night 2026 on the Costa del Sol: times, concerts, bonfires and fireworks

The Costa del Sol officially welcomes summer with an extensive programme for San Juan Night. Throughout the evening of Tuesday 23 June and the early hours of Wednesday 24 June, towns across the coastline will host concerts, street parties, fireworks and traditional bonfires by the sea.

This guide brings together the main activities confirmed by local councils and municipal channels across the Costa del Sol. Times and programmes may be subject to last-minute changes, so visitors are advised to check the official source for each destination before travelling.

Málaga: live music and a pyromusical show at La Misericordia

Málaga’s main celebration will take place on La Misericordia beach, next to the Primero de Mayo roundabout on the Antonio Banderas promenade.

The programme will begin at 10:30 pm with a performance by the Ipop Orchestra. At midnight, the traditional júa effigy will be burned, followed by a pyromusical show lasting approximately 14 minutes from La Térmica breakwater.

Music will continue after the fireworks until approximately 1:00 am.

Torremolinos: celebrations in La Carihuela, Montemar Alto and Cantarranas

Torremolinos’ main celebration will take place in La Carihuela, opposite La Zoca restaurant, from 8:00 pm.

The evening will include a bar service, music by Capitán Vinilo and the traditional midnight bonfire.

Celebrations will also be held in Montemar Alto, where the júa is expected to be burned at around 11:50 pm, and in Cantarranas, which will once again light its traditional bonfire.

All announced activities are free to attend.

Benalmádena: street parties, sardines and a pyromusical show beside Bil-Bil Castle

Benalmádena will distribute its programme across several areas of the municipality. At 7:00 pm, the jury will begin visiting the entries in the competition for júas, decorated balconies and streets.

Calle de la Parra will host street parties, performances by local dance schools and groups, face painting, food and drink stalls and grilled sardines. At 10:00 pm, the special lighting in Plaza de la Autonomía will be switched on.

The traditional effigies will begin to burn at midnight in different streets. The highlight of the night will arrive at 1:00 am, with a major pyromusical show in front of Bil-Bil Castle.

The council reminds visitors that private bonfires are not permitted on the beaches and that fires may only be lit in specifically authorised areas.

Fuengirola: street party in El Boquetillo and fireworks from the beach

Fuengirola will celebrate its traditional San Juan street party on Calle Miguel Bueno, in the El Boquetillo neighbourhood.

Activities will begin at 8:00 pm with a children’s party. The Báilalo Conmigo dance school will perform at 9:00 pm, followed by the Punto y Aparte Orchestra from 10:00 pm.

Paco y Llina will take to the stage at 11:30 pm. At midnight, the council will launch a fireworks display from San Francisco beach.

Children’s fairground attractions installed for the celebration will offer reduced prices throughout the day.

Mijas: two major celebrations in Mijas Pueblo and La Cala

Mijas will celebrate San Juan in both Mijas Pueblo and La Cala.

In Mijas Pueblo, performances will begin at 8:00 pm with groups from the Reme Fernández dance school. Víctor Rojas will perform afterwards, and the prizes for the júa competition will be presented at 10:00 pm.

The band Maniacos will take to the stage at 10:30 pm. The effigies will be burned at midnight.

In La Cala de Mijas, the celebration will begin at 10:00 pm with the Generación Vintage Orchestra. The performance will pause at midnight for the burning of the júa and continue afterwards.

Local beach bars have also prepared special dinners and live music for the occasion.

Marbella: electronic music and rumba on El Cable beach

El Cable beach will be one of the main settings for San Juan Night in Marbella.

The programme will begin at 8:00 pm with DJ sets by Mikel Lombarte and José Rodríguez. The traditional bonfire will be lit at midnight, accompanied by a performance from Rumba Canalla.

The celebration will then continue with another music session by DJ Cristian White.

San Pedro Alcántara: celebrations until the early hours on La Salida beach

San Pedro Alcántara will welcome summer on La Salida beach, with a programme running from 8:00 pm until 4:00 am.

The first part of the evening will feature DJs Pío Vallés, Raquel DK and Toni Rubio. The municipal bonfire will be lit at midnight.

Marassi Band will perform afterwards, and DJ Rafa Sánchez will keep the party going until 4:00 am. The municipal operation includes three authorised bonfires in the area.

Estepona: La Década Prodigiosa and the traditional Burning of the Moustaches

Estepona will celebrate the 46th edition of its traditional Quema de los Bigotes on La Rada beach, near the post office and the Monument to the Peseta.

The programme will begin at 9:00 pm with several performances and the presentation of the figures taking part in the traditional competition.

La Década Prodigiosa will perform at 10:00 pm. The Burning of the Moustaches will take place at midnight, once again becoming one of the most eagerly awaited moments of Estepona’s celebration.

Casares Costa: an afternoon of family activities at Playa Ancha

Playa Ancha will host Casares Costa’s San Juan programme from 5:00 pm.

The afternoon will begin with a Holy Colors party, games, inflatable attractions and activities both on the sand and in the water.

Local flamenco dancer María Soler will perform at 9:00 pm. Music will continue with the La Rebelión Orchestra, which will offer several sets before and after the traditional midnight bonfire.

Manilva: Harry Potter inspires Sabinillas’ main bonfire

Sabinillas beach will once again become one of the main meeting points on the western Costa del Sol.

The celebration will be concentrated around Plaza Manuel Luna, known locally as El Cali, and will begin at 10:00 pm with a performance by the La Tentación Orchestra.

At midnight, the main San Juan effigy will be set alight. This year’s design is inspired by the Harry Potter universe and was created by artist José María Tirado and his team. A fireworks display will follow.

Music will continue into the early hours with DJ Alba Dreid.

Rincón de la Victoria: activities in El Tajo, La Cala del Moral and Torre de Benagalbón

Rincón de la Victoria will distribute its programme across several parts of the municipality.

El Tajo beach will host a youth party from 8:00 pm until 2:00 am, featuring sets by DJs Androale, Rubén Llamas and Sánchez JR.

In La Cala del Moral, Calle San Juan will offer music and a bar service from 8:00 pm. The programme includes Zumba, salsa, bachata and a performance by Ritmo Andaluz. The traditional júa will be burned on the beach at midnight.

Torre de Benagalbón will also host activities from 8:00 pm, including dance schools, live music and grilled sardines from 9:00 pm. The júa will be burned at midnight and the celebration will continue afterwards.

Torre del Mar: Raule, live music and fireworks on El Copo beach

El Copo beach will be the centre of San Juan Night in Torre del Mar.

The programme will begin at 9:00 pm with a tribute show to Manuel Carrasco. Singer Raule will perform at 10:00 pm, followed by Óliver Gil after midnight.

The evening will also include grilled sardines, the traditional júa competition and a fireworks display.

Paseo de Larios is also hosting a maritime market as part of the special programme.

Benajarafe: music, grilled sardines and the traditional face-washing ritual

Benajarafe’s celebration will begin at 8:00 pm with background music, followed by a performance from the band Sweet Dreams.

A popular grilled sardine event will take place at 9:30 pm, with a price of two euros announced by the organisers. The programme also includes a Zumba session and music from DJ Julián.

At midnight, residents and visitors will take part in one of the area’s most traditional rituals: washing their faces with water to welcome Saint John’s Day.

Torrox: a torchlit procession through the historic centre

Torrox will revive one of its most distinctive traditions with a celebration away from the major beach parties.

The programme will begin at 9:30 pm in Plaza de la Concordia, with dance and music performances.

At 11:45 pm, the traditional torchlit descent to El Pontil will begin. Participants will wash their faces with river water in keeping with local custom.

Elías Soler will perform at 12:30 am, and traditional San Juan ring-shaped pastries will be handed out.

Nerja: concerts, a traditional effigy and fireworks on Burriana beach

Burriana beach will host Nerja’s main San Juan celebration.

The Al Alba Orchestra will perform from 10:00 pm until midnight. At 12:00 am, the traditional júa will be burned and a fireworks display will be launched.

Music will then continue with Proyecto Mandarina until approximately 2:00 am.

Recommendations for enjoying San Juan Night

Local councils recommend arriving early, using public transport whenever possible and respecting all authorised bonfire areas.

Visitors are also advised to:
