Rincón de la Victoria will celebrate the 5th edition of the Spoon Route, which will take place from February 20th to March 1st. A total of 27 restaurants will participate, and according to José Antonio Villodres, president of the Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs (Acerv), a total of 3,700 euros in prizes will be distributed.
The mayor of the municipality, Francisco Salado, highlighted: "This type of initiative is an important promotion of our gastronomic heritage and a direct support to the municipality's hospitality industry. The Spoon Route is established as a benchmark in quality gastronomy, adding to the set of actions we develop throughout the year."
The Councilor for Tourism, Antonio José Martín, recalled the participation in past editions. "We hope that this year we can exceed all expectations, as we have a wide variety of seasonal dishes and stews," he detailed.
The establishments, as confirmed by the council, will offer a spoon dish or stew accompanied by any drink, at a cost of four euros. The route will include proposals from local, traditional Malaga, and even international cuisine, such as cachorreña soup with cod, fennel stew, pringá cannelloni in Iberian veil, red tuna casserole with crispy skin, goat stew with mushrooms, or black beans à la jucateca, among others.
List of prizes and how to participate
In this 5th edition, there will be three prizes for the best dishes. The best dish will win 1,000 euros; the second prize will receive 700 euros, and the third will get a monetary reward of 500 euros. Additionally, the council has confirmed that a special public prize worth 500 euros will be awarded.
Moreover, visiting the route will also reward the customers. Anyone interested can participate by voting for their favorite restaurant and enter a draw for five prizes of 200 euros each, which will be given as a chequebook to spend in the participating establishments, ensuring that all prizes directly benefit the local hospitality industry.
To participate in the draw, it will be necessary to visit at least four restaurants from two different population centers, in this case Rincón de la Victoria, Torre de Benagalbón, or La Cala del Moral, and cast their vote. The winning dishes and establishments will be announced at a public event where the draw for the five chequebooks will also take place.
Visitors will have a guide with all the information about the initiative, which will also be available through Google Maps.
