The Treasure Cave of Rincón de la Victoria records

The Treasure Cave of Rincón de la Victoria, according to the city council, has reached "historic figures" with a total of more than 146,000 visitors throughout 2025. This represents an increase of 8.06% compared to the year 2024.

The mayor of Rincón de la Victoria, Francisco Salado, has valued the impact of these figures and highlighted that "the Treasure Cave has consolidated itself as one of the major tourist and cultural references in the province of Málaga, the result of continuous management, constant improvement of the visitor experience, and a strong commitment to the tourism promotion of the municipality".

In the same vein, the councilor for Tourism and Caves, Antonio José Martín, emphasized that "the cavity continues to show excellent visitor figures and closes the best year of its history since its opening to the public." He also noted that “there is a huge and growing interest in discovering the only visitable marine-origin cave in Europe and one of the three existing in the entire world”.

The second semester welcomed more than 82,000 visits, which accounts for 56.16% of the total visits, a figure very similar to that recorded in the same period of the previous year. "This confirms the stability and strength of the tourist attraction throughout the year," explained the council member through a statement.

Spanish visitors, as detailed by the city council in the statement, continue to be the majority, with a total of more than 84,400 visitors last year. Andalusia remains the main autonomous community with more than 67,000 visitors, followed by Madrid, which reached more than 6,000 and experienced a growth of 104.31%.

Regarding international tourism, the countries that have visited this site the most are Germany, with more than 8,000 visitors and an increase of 68.83%, followed by the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic. The mayor has highlighted that "the significant increase in international tourism shows that the Treasure Cave is gaining importance in European markets and reinforces our strategy for external promotion".

Regarding other sites in the municipality, the Cave of Victoria recorded during 2025 a total of more than 1,800 visitors, compared to 1,599 in 2024, which represents an increase of 14.57%. The Cave of Victoria offers a guided experience by experts, framed in an activity of active speleological tourism of great historical and archaeological relevance, allowing the discovery of the dawn of humanity through a site with more than 30,000 years of history. The Villa Antiopa site received more than 11,500 visits in 2025. "We will continue working to increase this figure and consolidate it as the heritage reference it already is".

The council member explained that he wants Villa Antiopa, in the future, to follow "the same path and achieve equally significant figures. In this effort, guided tours are offered, a program of stimulating activities is developed that includes thematic visits inspired by the festivities of the Roman calendar, known as the calends, as well as promotional actions in collaboration with media, specialized journalists, and influencers.
