The Estepona City Council has carried out an extraordinary planting of 23,000 specimens of ornamental flowers for the Christmas holidays, including typical holiday plants such as 16,000 cyclamens and 7,000 poinsettias, aimed at beautifying the public green areas both in the urban center and the outskirts, as reported this Friday by the Deputy Mayor for Services and External Control, Blas Ruzafa.

The municipal officer explained that the arrival of Christmas entails a special reinforcement of the floral decoration, to create a pleasant and festive atmosphere for both residents and visitors to enjoy. Additionally, it simultaneously boosts the city's commercial activity.

This year, a total of 23,000 specimens have been planted, including 16,000 cyclamens and 7,000 poinsettias, which have been used to decorate the bases of illuminated trees, floral towers, hanging planters, and pots distributed across various points of the municipality.

These typical Christmas flowers have been placed along the main access avenues to the city, such as Litoral Avenue, and other heavily trafficked roads like Andalucía, España, or Juan Carlos I Avenues, as well as on the promenade and in the most central and commercial areas, including Terraza Street and Antonia Guerrero Square. Likewise, the neighborhoods and residential areas on the outskirts have also been part of this ornamental effort.

The councilor highlighted that the Christmas floral decoration also extends to urban spaces remodeled in recent years, thus enhancing the well-maintained and attractive image of the city during this special season.

Ruzafa emphasized that these beautification efforts contribute to creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere, conducive for citizens to enjoy Estepona, stroll through its streets, and shop at local businesses during Christmas.
