The Estepona Town Hall will start tomorrow, Wednesday, the first actions of the municipal paving plan, which will improve nearly fifty streets in the urban core and outskirts, with an investment of 1,751,639 euros, as reported this Tuesday by the Deputy Mayor of the Development, Infrastructure, and Tourism (FIT) area, Ana Velasco.
The municipal officer highlighted that this is the sixth action program in this area launched by the City Council, thus continuing the upgrading carried out in recent years on other main and secondary streets of the city.
In total, 43 roads have been selected based on the deterioration of their surface, although this number may increase as the works progress if needed by the project. Specifically, the first works will be carried out tomorrow, Wednesday, on Avenida de Los Frutales.
The paving plan has been awarded to the company Elsamex Gestión de Infraestructuras, which submitted the best economic offer of 1,751,639 euros, representing a significant reduction compared to the base bidding price, which was set at 2.2 million euros.
On the other hand, Velasco has announced that work is underway on a new paving plan that will cover another significant number of streets in the municipality and will begin to be implemented starting from autumn of this year.
Paving in the Urban Core
The planning with which the company is working includes a first phase of intervention that will take place over six weeks on the streets of the urban core. Thus, after Avenida de Los Frutales, work will continue on Peral, Matías Prats, and José Luis Díez streets. Meanwhile, next week, intervention is scheduled on Avenida del Carmen, where work will take place from Tuesday to Thursday in the nighttime, as specified by the City Council.
According to the planned schedule, the works will continue on streets Lazaga, Luis Buñuel, Alcalá Galiano, Gabriela Mistral, Juan Guerrero, Ronda, Dos de Mayo, Jacinto Benavente, and La Mantilla street. In this last street, the planning of the work has also been scheduled due to the collapse of a wall. Work will also be carried out in the vicinity of the parking lot on Avenida de la Libertad with excavation and filling, flooring, and treatment.
During the month of March, the Town Hall has reported that the paving plan will focus on Los Naranjos Street, with the demolition of curbs and their repair, as well as the replacement of paving; and with paving on Terral, José Santacana streets, and Avenida de Andalucía. The actions will continue on Los Naranjos Street, continuing on Avenida de Andalucía, Gutenberg Street, Alonso Cano, Newton, and Arrabal Industrial.
Furthermore, the Town Hall has planned that the work, both on the avenues and streets and the roundabout of the industrial estate, will be carried out at nighttime, and will be preceded by signage and the temporary removal of containers and pruning of trees where necessary.
Interventions in the Outskirts
Furthermore, the City Council has highlighted that the next phase of the plan, once completed in the urban core, will focus on the outskirts. The work areas will be the streets Del Molino, Del Reposo, Caddie, Valderrama Golf, Del Aire, De la Estrella, Irene Villa, Del Salmón, Isla Verde, Del Dragma, Avenida Costa Galera, Avenida México, access to Costa Natura beach, access and parking at Los Granados, Avenida Hacienda del Sol, Avenida Del Norte, Avenida De los Andaluces, Somontano Street, and Del Priorato, they added.
