The Climbing Center of Estepona will host the Andalusia Climbing Championship on October 11 and 12, coinciding with the second scoring event of the Andalusia Cup, with the registration deadline ending this Monday, according to the City Council.

The event is organized by the Estepona Mountain Group, GRUME, and the Andalusian Federation of Mountain, Climbing, and Hiking Sports (FADMES), with the collaboration of the Estepona City Council.

The competition will take place at the municipal climbing center in Estepona, located at the Fair and Sports Grounds, taking place on Saturday from 08:00 to 22:00 hours, and on Sunday from 07:45 to 17:30 hours, as detailed by the City Council in a statement.

Participating Categories

The competition is open to the categories U9, U11, U13, which will use the Top Rope climbing mode to ascend the proposed routes; as well as the U15, U17, U19, and Absolute, Promotion, and Veteran categories, which will participate in flash and on-sight, with the use of a helmet being mandatory for all.

To qualify for the podium and score in the Andalusia Cup cumulative, participants must hold a valid annual license from FADMES or FEDME, while to qualify for the final classification of the Andalusia Championship, they must have these licenses issued by the Andalusian Federation of Mountain, Climbing, and Hiking Sports.

Additionally, all registered participants with an annual federative license and residing in the province of Málaga or issued by a provincial club, will be entered in the School Age Climbing Championship of the Province of Málaga, which will also be held concurrently.
