Around 40 professionals will ensure safety on the beaches of Torremolinos.

Around 40 professionals from Ambumar S&A form the rescue and lifeguard service designed by the Torremolinos City Council to ensure the safety of swimmers and users along the more than seven kilometers of coastline of the municipality. This service was presented yesterday by the mayor, Margarita del Cid (PP), and the Beach Councilor, Miguel Domínguez (PP). The service began on June 1 and will be operational until September 30 at the beaches of El Bajondillo, La Carihuela, Playamar, and Los Álamos, every day of the week, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The rescue operation includes 11 lookout towers equipped with first aid materials, a rescue boat, and two jet skis, ready to respond quickly to any emergency. There is also an ambulance available in the area for urgent transfers, two fixed nursing stations equipped with a university degree in Nursing and materials to handle any incidents in the area. Additionally, they have a rapid intervention vehicle equipped with first aid medical supplies, and five defibrillators strategically distributed at the main nursing stations. The Coordination Center will be in constant communication with beach assistants, Civil Protection, and Local Police, as well as various emergency services such as 061, 112, or Firefighters. This year, the service includes new features such as the incorporation of a bracelet tracking system for minors and people with disabilities, available for free at the care modules, to enhance safety in case of loss or disorientation. Another new feature is a real-time video surveillance system of the beaches with recording capabilities, which will allow the coordination post to watch live the development of interventions and the sea conditions, as well as the influx of the public. The Torremolinos City Council has provided two motorized mobility devices for users of the assisted bathing system and a boat for Civil Protection, which will increase the surveillance of the coastline, especially during the numerous sporting and cultural events organized in the municipality. Reservations for the assisted bathing can be made through WhatsApp with an automatic response system, avoiding unnecessary delays. This year, the flags indicating the state of the sea all have a distinctive identification for colorblind people, thus improving inclusion in bathing. The Beach Councilor, Miguel Domínguez, has emphasized the importance of following the lifeguard personnel's instructions and respecting the beach usage rules to ensure safe and healthy coexistence.
