Luxury villas for rent up to 18,000 euros per night with fishing trips in Marbella

A company from Marbella has devised a plan to complement the vacation rental of luxury villas with exclusive experiences, allowing stays in one of these high-end homes with prices ranging from 3,500 to 18,000 euros per night, and to engage in activities such as visiting the local market or a fishing day, as highlighted this Wednesday by the CEO of Marbella Mountain Resorts, Luis Ponce.

Thus, he emphasized that Marbella is positioning itself in the international ultra-luxury tourist market, attracting a global clientele with high purchasing power who until recently prioritized destinations like Ibiza, the French Riviera, or the Greek islands.

With a portfolio of about 30 properties located in areas like Sierra Blanca, Benahavís, Marbella Club, or La Zagaleta, the group aims to offer a sort of “European Beverly Hills” in the area, according to Ponce, who stressed that “Marbella has everything to become the world's leading luxury destination: climate, privacy, connectivity, cultural and gastronomic offerings, but above all, space, versatility, and quality of life.”

According to him, the company has observed a significant change in recent years, as “clients who traditionally chose destinations like Ibiza, the French Riviera, or certain Greek islands for their vacations are now opting for Marbella,” many of them seeking “less overcrowding, more privacy, a well-maintained natural environment, and above all, a much more personalized luxury offering.”

Exclusive Experiences

The concept of renting luxury villas in Marbella that the company offers is to provide an exclusive experience. Thus, he detailed initiatives such as “visiting the local market with a private chef to select fresh ingredients, participating in a fishing trip to catch the weekly menu, attending tastings at local wineries, preparing sunset cocktails with a professional mixologist, or learning traditional recipes like paella from a local chef.”

The proposal has resulted in an extended average stay, Ponce assured, going from one week to between 10 and 12 nights, noting that it is not uncommon to find guests who stay up to two months before continuing their journey in Dubai or Maldives, with prices that can reach 18,000 euros per night.

Client Profile

Regarding the profile of the clients, he pointed out that it is predominantly international, ranging from retired American CEOs seeking tranquility with family to millennial founders of tech startups who prioritize design, home automation, art, and sustainability. This latter group “spends the most,” seeking “the best villa, the best restaurants, the best personalized experience,” he added.

Among the demands of the clients, he highlighted that “recently, a family staying in a villa with horses asked that their children could clean the stables early in the morning, making them responsible for their environment.” “Similarly, they also request activities related to personal development such as yoga classes each morning and experiences that involve them with the local environment,” he added.

On the other hand, he highlighted the collaboration of the owners, noting that more and more owners decide to make their properties available selectively and temporarily, under the full management of the company. “There are two types of owners, those who want to capitalize on their investment and those who, driven by a more sustainable vision, prefer that their homes are not left closed when they are not using them. They share their home with people who value it in the broadest sense,” Ponce explained.

Regarding emerging markets, he elaborated on the growth from countries like the Middle East, India, and the United States, whose elites are beginning to see Marbella as an ideal destination for prolonged vacations, with villas valued between 10 and 20 million euros and an annual occupancy rate around 40%, well above the usual in this highly exclusive segment.
