Ten years of success. That's how the party for the tenth anniversary of the Marenostrum Fuengirola festival was introduced this Wednesday at the Sohail Castle venue. The grand presentation once again emphasized by the Fuengirola City Council that there is no other concert series in Andalusia with so many attendees. Moreover, for this edition, the figure of 40 major events will be surpassed again, as well as the impact of more than 50 million euros, which also set a regional record in the 2024 edition. Mayor Ana Mula was once again surrounded by the great team that makes such an important cultural and tourist event possible, with councilman Rodrigo Romero leading the way. Last year alone, they surpassed 100 million impacts with their extensive communication and press campaign. And it's no small feat, nearly 175,000 people sold out the tickets for sale "in one out of every three concerts."
Another differentiating factor is that half of the events in 2024 were headlined by international artists. Regarding the social impact of this series, the Fuengirola leaders recalled that more than 1,700 jobs were created. "Over the years, our concert series has accumulated impressive growth, becoming one of the main national events in the music scene," said the mayor herself.
This year's series kicked off last week with performances by Juanlu Montoya, Marta Santos, and Gonzalo Alhambra. And in the coming weeks, there are highly anticipated concerts such as those by Myke Towers, with all tickets sold out, and Chayanne. June will be welcomed by the Fulanita Fest 2025, featuring Vanesa Martín, Lia Kali, and Ptazeta.
There will also be a metal night in June with the legendary Dream Theater, as well as pop performances by Rosario and the duo Andy and Lucas. Equally anticipated are next month's concerts with Maná and Ojete Calor. The series will continue in July with Antoñito Molina, Molotov, Ozuna, Juan Luis Guerra, the American band Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Lionel Richie. Before July arrives, more big names will take to the Fuengirola mega-venue, such as The Prodigy and the incomparable guitar of Vicente Amigo.
August will bring to Fuengirola more prominent names from this century and the last, such as Sebastián Yatra, María Peláe, Paloma San Basilio, Orquesta Mondragón, Modestia Aparte, No me pises que llevo chanclas, Pecos, with tickets also sold out, Bonnie Tyler, Carl Cox, Leiva, and Pastora Soler. Even the first weeks of September will see a series, with several themed events for the whole family.
Because the intention of the Fuengirola City Council is to attract an audience of all generations and families that goes far beyond the typical attendee of other festival formats with decades behind them. The officials also highlighted that "the support of our sponsors, without whom none of this would be possible," as Mayor Ana Mula concluded.
