14 educational centers in Estepona participate in 'Spring of Stories for Equality'

The fourth edition of the 'Spring of Stories for Equality' event kicks off on the upcoming 6th and runs until the 29th of May in Estepona with the goal of raising awareness among students about the prevention of gender violence and promoting education in values.

The first story, 'Neither More Nor Less', will be narrated by 'Cientacuentos Cuentapiés' and will highlight the importance of equality between women and men as a means to prevent situations of gender violence. The audience will be preschool and primary school students from 14 educational centers in Estepona, the first two being CEIP Víctor de la Serna and CEIP Gloria Fuertes. The activity will continue on the 7th, 9th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, and 29th of May, with two sessions each day, one per school.

"The work from the Women's Delegation shows us the importance of focusing on education in equality from increasingly younger ages, directly involving boys and girls," stated Julia Simón Ortega, the head of Women's Affairs. "I celebrate the warm reception that the first activity of this cycle received on April 10th with 'They Also Tell Stories' aimed at adults, led by psychologist, writer, and narrator Alicia Acosta."

This initiative is a continuation of the line of work being developed by the Municipal Information Center for Women in the fight against gender inequality, with actions to raise awareness among the general public.

'Spring of Stories for Equality' is an activity funded by the Andalusian Institute for Women of the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, under the State Pact Funds against Gender Violence from the Secretary of State for Equality and against Gender Violence of the Ministry of Equality, and aims to strengthen and expand education in egalitarian values.
