Fuengirola will install a giant screen to follow the Eurovision Song Contest at the Marenostrum facilities.

Fuengirola is set to celebrate the Eurovision gala in grand style on May 17th. The event will take place at the Marenostrum facilities, where access will be free to enjoy the gala live. The venue will open from 7:00 PM, and attendees will be able to enjoy the performance of the local band Stereo 80 as well as a giant screen on the Unicaja stage.

This 2025 Eurovision, which attracts over 180 million live viewers each year, will feature two singers closely connected to Fuengirola: Spain's representative, Melody, who resides in the municipality, and Norway's candidate, Kyle Alessandro, who has spent long periods in this city.

"Fuengirola is an open and cosmopolitan city, where citizens of more than 130 nationalities, including all European ones, coexist in perfect harmony. Therefore, we thought it was a good idea, especially since we have two candidates linked to our city such as Melody and Kyle Alessandro," said Rodrigo Romero, the councilor for Major Events, alongside Lorenzo Ruiz, father of the Spanish contestant Melody, and William Small and Jirkka Jurvanen, representatives of the English and Finnish communities in the city.

According to Romero, the idea is that "since we have that fantastic space, we all participate in this contest, cheer on our candidates, and celebrate, no matter our nationality, a language that unites us all, which is music."

For his part, Lorenzo Ruiz, father of Melody, indicated that "Melody is a very open and friendly person with people and she is handling it very well. She proudly represents Spain and is very happy with what she is doing; representing her country is the ultimate for her. She is working hard because there are many things, but she is indeed very happy. It will be a very beautiful moment because the song is also being very well received, it's catchy and reaches people."

According to him, Melody is "very happy that this event is taking place here, in her homeland, and she thinks it's great that people are allowed to gather to watch the festival in such an incredible place as Marenostrum Fuengirola."
