The EMDE Games will bring together more than 2,000 athletes in Torremolinos

Over 2,000 athletes from across the country will participate this coming summer in Torremolinos in a new edition of the EMDE National School Games, which will be held once again in the town. Specifically, the school competition, taking place from June 14 to June 29 at the municipal sports facilities, will bring together a total of 146 teams from nine Spanish provinces, exceeding the figures from the last edition. In this way, the first category to get underway will be the junior category, with competitions held from June 14 to June 19 featuring 50 teams. Following this, from June 19 to June 24, the competition in the children's category will take place, gathering 51 teams. Finally, from June 24 to June 29, the EMDE Games in the cadet category will be held, with the participation of 45 teams. Specifically, the provinces that will be represented this upcoming summer in Torremolinos are Las Palmas, Madrid, Málaga, Sevilla, Tenerife, Valladolid, Córdoba, Ciudad Real, and León. The sports disciplines that will be part of this new edition of the championship are basketball (men's and women's), indoor soccer (men's, women's, and mixed), 7-a-side soccer (men's and mixed), 11-a-side soccer (men's), and volleyball (women's and mixed). With the 2025 competition, it will be 20 consecutive years that Torremolinos has hosted this important event. In addition to the sports level of the national tournament, there is also the tourist impact of a competition that attracts families and athletes from different parts of the country. Furthermore, the collaboration agreement between the Torremolinos City Council and the Eusebio Millán Sports Promotion entity for School Sports establishes that this prominent national competition will continue to be held at the municipal sports facilities at least until the year 2027.
