With the beaches in perfect condition, after removing 120 tons of reeds, Torremolinos anticipates good tourist occupancy for Easter week. This activity is expected to bring about 150,000 people to the municipality, effectively doubling the usual population. Contributing to this is the hotel occupancy from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday, which is close to 90%, with an average of 80% over the seven days of celebrations. According to municipal estimates, in fact, this percentage might increase with last-minute national bookings.

If the forecasts hold true, it will continue the trend observed since the beginning of 2025. According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, Torremolinos has welcomed 104,902 travelers, both national and international, in January and February. Furthermore, regarding overnight stays, there has been a growth of 5.8%, reaching 478,685 overnight stays, 26,381 more than in the same period in 2024. The goal of the sector is to surpass last season's record, with more than a million travelers and close to five and a half million overnight stays.

With this scenario, the City Council will activate the beach service this Friday, April 11, through April 20, operating non-stop from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. There will be 23 lifeguards ensuring the safety of swimmers during a period in which people with functional diversity can also enjoy the Mediterranean with an adapted service. From April 26 to May 31, inclusive, the service will operate on weekends, with the same schedule. Starting from June 1 to September 30, the summer lifeguard service will be launched, running Monday to Sunday, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
