The Fuengirola Countries Fair is approaching, set to be held from April 30 to May 4 at the fairgrounds, with all details expected to be announced next Friday, April 25, at a public event in Plaza de la Constitución. Until then, the major new feature this year relates to mobility, as in its recent editions, this event has congested the streets of the town. As such, the City Council has announced that Renfe will provide an extraordinary service each night, from April 30 to May 4, with trains every 20 minutes, from 10:20 PM to 12:20 AM. Additionally, there will also be trains departing from Los Boliches at 5:00 AM and 5:20 AM for the stragglers.

The Councilor for Tourism, José Luis Ponce, announced that the fair's presentation will include free tastings and performances by some of the participating countries. Regarding the fair itself, Ponce assured that this year will see a step forward in terms of decoration and performances. The activity in the booths is planned to continue until 4:00 AM.

On Thursday, May 1, a public holiday across Spain, the traditional parade will be held, starting at 11:30 AM with the participation of about 1,500 people. "It's going to be a giant parade. There has never been such a large parade before. The route will be the usual one: it will start at 11:30 AM from Plaza de España towards the fairgrounds, and we estimate that they will enter the fairgrounds around 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM. This will be the only day that the booths won't open at 1:00 PM, but will be open from 12:30 PM so everyone can enjoy the fair after the parade. On that day, although the booths can stay open until 4:00 AM, music will only be allowed until 2:00 AM, since the following day is a working day."

In this regard, the councilor explained that "on Friday 2, Saturday 3, and Sunday 4, activities will begin at 1:00 PM and end each day at 4:00 AM, but the music will be turned off on Friday and Saturday at 3:30 AM, while on Sunday it will stop at 2:00 AM because the following day is a working day and this is less bothersome for the local residents."

Ponce called for the use of public transport during the fair. "It is ideal to travel by bus, as there are several lines with stops very close to the fairgrounds. The use of urban transport is essential for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors, because it's common to have a beer or a drink, and this way you can return home safely. And also, because it's a massive fair and, therefore, leads to traffic and especially parking problems." In this regard, he explained that deterrent parking areas will be set up in the La Loma area.
