Costa del Sol faces a major week of concerts with Starlite, Marenostrum, Dreambeach and Alhautor among the highlights
From 27 July to 2 August, the province will host nearly twenty music events with artists such as Ara Malikian, Zucchero, Beret, Manuel Turizo, Rosana, Mónica Naranjo, Tom Jones, Rosario, Hombres G and David Guetta.
Málaga is set for one of the most intense music weeks of the summer. From Monday 27 July to Sunday 2 August, the province will offer a packed agenda of concerts and festivals covering a wide range of styles: Latin pop, flamenco, electronic music, rock, indie, urban music, singer-songwriter performances and major international shows.
The activity will be spread across some of the main summer venues in Málaga province, including Starlite Occident Marbella, Marenostrum Fuengirola, 101 Music Festival, Málaga Forum, Alhautor and Dreambeach Costa del Sol, consolidating the province as one of southern Spain’s leading music destinations.
Starlite brings together much of the week’s programme
The Auditorium at Starlite Occident Marbella will be one of the main focal points of the week. The programme begins on Monday 27 July with Ara Malikian, continues on Tuesday with Zucchero and follows on Wednesday with Beret.
On Thursday 30 July, it will be the turn of Manuel Turizo, one of the biggest names in today’s Latin music scene. Rosana will perform on Friday 31 July, while on Saturday 1 August the festival will welcome Tom Jones and Rosario, two artists with very different careers but a strong connection with live performance.
Fuengirola, Málaga and Alhaurín de la Torre also host major events
The week will not be limited to Marbella. Marenostrum Fuengirola will host the Operación Triunfo concert on Friday 31 July, while Hombres G, one of Spain’s most beloved pop-rock bands, will perform on Saturday 1 August.
In Málaga city, the 101 Music Festival will welcome Mónica Naranjo on Friday 31 July, and Málaga Forum will host Rodrigo Cuevas on the same day, one of the most distinctive artists on the current music scene.
Meanwhile, Alhautor, in Alhaurín de la Torre, will offer several days of music with names such as Lole Montoya and Carmen Avilés, Papá Levante, Delasrosas, Esteban Bove, Parquesvr, VVV, Mondongo Boy, Raffael, Clyde, El Mató a un Policía Motorizado, Cristina Len and Retro Cassetta.
Dreambeach brings electronic music to Vélez-Málaga
Another major event of the week will be Dreambeach Costa del Sol, taking place on Friday 31 July and Saturday 1 August. The festival lands in Vélez-Málaga with a programme focused on electronic music and weekend passes starting from €89, according to the information published by Málaga Hoy.
The event reinforces the role of the Axarquía area within Málaga’s summer music calendar and adds a large-scale festival to the province’s cultural and leisure offer.
An agenda for all audiences
The variety of the programme means Málaga’s music week will appeal to very different audiences. There will be options for those looking for major international names, Spanish pop concerts, Latin shows, electronic festivals, flamenco, indie and alternative sounds.
The concentration of so many events in just seven days confirms the strong moment the province is experiencing as a cultural leisure destination. Live music has become one of Málaga’s main summer attractions, both for residents and visitors.
