Six Málaga destinations rank among Spain’s most searched places for summer holidays in 2026

The Costa del Sol has once again positioned itself as one of Spain’s favourite areas for summer holidays. Six destinations in Málaga province feature among the 30 most searched places by travellers looking for accommodation between 4 July and 30 August 2026.

The ranking, compiled by holiday rental platform Holidu, confirms the continued strength of sun-and-beach tourism during the summer season. Andalusia and the Valencian Community account for most of the most popular destinations, with the Costa de la Luz, Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol playing a leading role.

Málaga city leads the province’s presence

The best-ranked Málaga destination is Málaga city, which appears in sixth place nationally with a median price of €225 per night and accommodation.

Nerja follows in 11th place, with a median rate of €211. Further down the list are Marbella in 21st place, with €345 per night; Torremolinos in 22nd, with €230; Fuengirola in 23rd, with €251; and Benalmádena in 30th place, with €222.

The presence of these six municipalities reflects the diversity of Málaga’s tourism offer, from urban and cultural destinations such as Málaga city to well-established seaside locations such as Nerja, Marbella and Fuengirola.

Andalusia and the Mediterranean coast dominate the summer ranking

The report places Conil de la Frontera as the most searched destination of the summer, with a median price of €212 per night. It is followed by Cádiz, with €231, while Gandía, Calpe and Dénia complete the top five.

In total, 26 of the 30 destinations in the ranking are located in Andalusia and the Valencian Community. This confirms the strong competition between the Andalusian coastline and Spain’s eastern Mediterranean coast when it comes to attracting travellers looking for holiday accommodation during the peak summer months.

Other Andalusian destinations appearing in the list include Chiclana de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, Almería, Huelva, Granada and Almuñécar.

Marbella is the most expensive Málaga destination in the ranking

Within Málaga province, Marbella records the highest median price among the listed municipalities, at €345 per night. It is followed by Fuengirola at €251, Torremolinos at €230, Málaga city at €225, Benalmádena at €222 and Nerja at €211.

Nationally, the highest prices in the study are mainly found in the Balearic Islands. Sant Lluís, in Menorca, tops the list of the most expensive destinations, with €604 per night, followed by Santa Eulària des Riu and Ibiza.

At the opposite end, the most affordable options are found in inland or less crowded destinations such as Valle Gran Rey, Úbeda, Fasnia, Córdoba and Jaén.

Costa del Sol maintains its tourism strength

The figures reinforce Málaga’s appeal as a summer holiday destination. The province combines beaches, cultural attractions, gastronomy, leisure, tourist accommodation and good connectivity, all of which continue to drive searches among national travellers.

Having six municipalities in the top 30 also shows that the Costa del Sol does not depend on a single destination, but on a network of towns with different profiles and the ability to attract varied audiences: families, couples, urban tourists, international visitors and travellers looking for beach, dining and leisure.
