Marbella and Telpark Launch a Free Electric Vehicle Charging Campaign
Users will be able to access the parking lots of Las Terrazas, the center, and Marbella Market between May 11 and May 17. The Costa del Sol creates a mobility commission amid a bus conflict.
The Marbella City Council and the company Telpark will develop a campaign from May 11 to 17 offering free recharging for electric vehicles at three city parking facilities, namely Las Terrazas, the city center, and Mercado de Marbella, as announced by the Council on Wednesday.
During this period, users will be able to use 18 supply points at no cost, distributed among these facilities, including 12 semi-rapid devices of up to 22 kilowatts and 6 rapid devices of up to 120 kilowatts.
To benefit from this initiative, users must go through the process using the Telpark app, which allows real-time location of available facilities and integrated management of the service, as pointed out by the Council in a statement.
According to the Council, this action will facilitate temporary access to the charging infrastructure in strategic areas of the municipality, promoting the everyday use of electric mobility solutions for both residents and visitors.
This collaboration is part of an action aimed at promoting access to transportation alternatives with a lower environmental impact, through technological solutions applied to parking and electric recharging.
Other initiatives
The Council and the company Telpark renewed their collaboration agreement last September, which has been in place for three years, promoting initiatives such as parking at a special rate of 1.99 euros for 12 hours in some of the company-managed parking facilities in the city, as reported at the time by the Traffic Councilor, Félix Romero.
The measure aimed to facilitate parking for residents, tourists, and merchants, in order to promote shopping in local commerce, also incorporating last year a new feature, a 30 percent discount on charging electric vehicles that ended in December for users who purchase the so-called ‘Multipass’ vouchers.
