Mercato della Fontanella lands in Marbella with an Italian-flavored culinary proposal
Marbella welcomes Mercato della Fontanella, a new culinary concept that combines a restaurant, cocktail bar, and gourmet shop.
Marbella continues to solidify its status as an international culinary destination with the arrival of Mercato della Fontanella, the first European project by Simón Jacobo, founder of the American group V&E Hospitality Group. This innovative space opens its doors in the La Fontanilla neighborhood, offering a unique concept that integrates a restaurant, cocktail bar, and gourmet shop.
A Strategic Entry into Europe
With this opening, Simón Jacobo, who has already achieved success in the United States with his V&E Hospitality group, is betting on Marbella as his expansion point in Europe. This new project reinforces the positioning of the Costa del Sol as a strategic destination for foreign investment, particularly in the hospitality sector. The arrival of Mercato della Fontanella also responds to the growing demand for international culinary offerings in the city, attracting a diverse and demanding audience.
Modern Italian Cuisine, Their Culinary Bet
Mercato della Fontanella offers a complete experience that goes beyond a traditional restaurant. Under the direction of chef Davide Buglino, the restaurant presents a concept of traditional Italian cuisine, reinterpreted with a modern and cosmopolitan vision. Among the options are fresh pastas, risottos, and innovative dishes made with premium quality ingredients, both Italian and local.
The space also features a carefully selected assortment of Italian wines, designed to complement the culinary offerings and enhance the flavors of each dish. The integration of fresh and local ingredients reflects the establishment's commitment to sustainability and product quality.
Signature Cocktails and Gourmet Shop
The cocktail bar, a key component of the concept, offers signature cocktails that blend traditional Italian flavors with modern mixology techniques. This seasonal approach ensures that the cocktails vary according to the season, providing a fresh and dynamic experience for customers.
In addition, Mercato della Fontanella features a gourmet shop offering a selection of high-end Italian products such as cheeses, olive oils, wines, and pasta. Customers can take home quality Italian kitchen ingredients, as well as the charcuterie prepared on the premises.
Local Collaboration and Commitment to Quality
The opening of Mercato della Fontanella has been made possible thanks to the collaboration between Simón Jacobo and two local entrepreneurs, Francisco Martín and José Lozano Muñoz. Together, they have worked to adapt the concept to the needs of the Marbella market, ensuring an offering that not only integrates the essence of Italian cuisine but also respects the local culture and tradition.
The establishment also counts on the supervision of Enrica Barni, executive chef of Negrini, an Italian company responsible for supplying high-quality gourmet products. The partnership with Negrini ensures the authenticity of the dishes and excellence in their preparation.
An Interactive and Attractive Space for Everyone
The restaurant has a capacity for 160 diners, with a carefully designed indoor dining room and a spacious outdoor terrace. One of the main attractions of the space is its showcooking area, where customers can watch some of the dishes being prepared live, adding an interactive experience that complements the culinary offerings.
Hours and Prices
Mercato della Fontanella will be open every day from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with two shifts for the kitchen: from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The bar will serve Italian snacks until midnight. With an average price of €40 per person, the proposal is accessible to those seeking a high-quality culinary experience in the heart of Marbella.
With the arrival of Mercato della Fontanella, Marbella enhances its international culinary appeal, combining the best of Italian tradition with a modern and local approach that promises to become a benchmark on the Costa del Sol.
