The Marbella City Council has once again made available to beachgoers an identification bracelet system aimed at children and vulnerable individuals, with the goal of facilitating their location in case they get lost and enhancing safety during their stay on the coast. As explained by the City Council, the initiative, coordinated by the lifeguard and rescue service, involves the free distribution of these bracelets made of water-resistant synthetic material with a high-visibility design. This initiative allows for quick alerting of emergency services by anyone in case of potential disorientation. Additionally, the 17 rescue modules in the municipality have a specific action protocol, and each bracelet includes a numeric code and a color for identification, while contact information is exclusively registered by the lifeguard staff and transferred to the coordination center. This ensures data protection, as the device does not include visible personal information. In case of loss, the procedure establishes that the rescuer who finds the lost individual identifies the code and contacts the coordination center, from where the relatives are immediately notified. This system will be operational on weekends and holidays until June 1, and subsequently, it will be available every day during the peak season. During the last Easter campaign, the device helped manage the location of four lost individuals among the various interventions carried out by the beach service. The City Council reminds that the bracelets can be requested at any of the rescue modules and recommends their use especially on days of high attendance or in large areas. Additionally, the lifeguard service continues to carry out prevention and continuous information tasks aimed at users, in order to promote a safe and responsible use of the coast.
