The Marbella lifeguard service carries out more than 650 operations on the beaches during Easter Week

The special rescue and lifeguard operation deployed in Marbella during Holy Week, conducted from March 28 to April 5, carried out more than 650 actions, of which 216 focused on warnings about the presence of dogs in unauthorized areas, as reported by the City Council on Wednesday.

Thus, the City Council highlighted in a statement that 55% of the actions were related to the enforcement of the municipal ordinance, while rescue tasks accounted for 35%. The summary was completed with 8% medical assistance and 1% rescue boat operations.

The regulatory focus involved 362 interventions, notably warnings for the presence of dogs in unauthorized areas, with 216 preventive actions, particularly at Cabopino beach.

Additionally, there were 46 interventions for practicing water sports in restricted areas, such as kitesurfing or windsurfing, and 41 warnings for fishing outside permitted hours. Other incidents included coastal cleaning, control of swimmers in nautical channels, and isolated cases of camping.

Regarding prevention in aquatic environments, the operation issued 152 direct warnings to swimmers and 20 interventions related to yellow flag conditions, as noted.

To these actions, 35 surveillance operations from boats were added, while in the section on assistance to vulnerable individuals, four lost users were located, and identification bracelets were placed in two cases. The preventive nature of the service ensured that only one moderate-severity rescue was recorded, at Pinillo beach.

The health summary reported 50 assists, mainly for minor wounds or burns, with one of the most significant actions being an intervention that required hospital transfer from El Faro beach. In other areas like Puerto Banús or Nueva Andalucía, the assistance involved bruises, stings, or mild episodes such as fainting spells.
