Free Workshops during White Week at Museums and Venues in Málaga

White Week is approaching, and with it, the holidays for schoolchildren in Málaga. To help keep them entertained while learning, various museums and municipal cultural spaces are organizing workshops aimed at children, most of which offer free admission.

MUCAC La Coracha

Workshop: A MUCAC Team Fanzine

Target audience: Children's workshops for kids aged 5 to 12 years. Capacity: 25 people

During White Week, this municipal space has designed a fanzine. Participants will tour the exhibitions and observe the images, objects, and storytelling methods. This experience will be transformed into their own diverse pages. Like creating a fanzine, they will look, cut, draw, write, and organize the artistic pieces. Thus, they will have the opportunity to learn that the museum is a space where one can explore, reinterpret, and build as a team.

Museo Casa Natal Picasso

Workshop: Inside Out.

Target audience: Children's workshops for kids aged 6 to 12 years. Capacity: 18 people

Schedule: February 24 and 25 (first shift); February 26 and 27 (second shift), from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

During the two-day workshop, participants will explore the concept of duality and contrast between opposites, inspired by the iconic Harlequin and Pierrot from Commedia dell'Arte and the work of the Malaga-born artist. In this way, they will enjoy fun and participatory dynamics, and like in a theatrical play, learn to switch their own roles and personality facets.

In this edition, the educational classroom will be the activity's epicenter, and the reference and visit spaces will be the Museo Casa Natal Picasso itself and the temporary exhibition "Life with Françoise."

Centre Pompidou Málaga

Exhibition Young Space: The Magic House + Volume Games

Schedule: from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Sunday (except Tuesday)

At the Centre Pompidou Málaga, the little ones can enjoy the new proposal from the Young Space, which opens on February 20. Two interventions in which, through simple gestures and accessible construction techniques, participants will discover the language of architecture and get started on its fundamentals.

Museo Ruso and MEET

Workshop: Layers of Reality

Target audience: Ages 6 to 12 years. Capacity: 20 people.

Schedule: Two shifts, February 24 and 25; and February 26 and 27. From 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM

The camp is divided into two shifts of two days each, adding new exhibitions with the inclusion of Malaga Expository Space Tabacalera. During these days, the workshop space will become a place of academic learning, where attendees will experience how to represent reality in the classical manner and continuously work through different dynamics and techniques on the contemporary image.

Municipal Archive

Workshop: A Journey to the Past with the Family

Target audience: Children from 7 years old. Maximum capacity: 30 people

The Municipal Archive has scheduled an interactive guided tour aimed at both the youngest members of the family and adults. In this activity, they will discover, in a simple and fun way, interesting chapters from the history of Málaga over the last five centuries. They will also learn what the Municipal Archive is and have a first approach to the documents it holds.

Workshop: White Week Museum: Articultors

Target audience: Children aged 6 to 12 years.

Schedule: Ages 6 to 9, February 23 and 24, and ages 7 to 12, February 25 and 26. From 10 AM to 2:00 PM.

Museo Revello de Toro

Workshop: Revello de Toro and His Family

Target audience: Children aged 6 to 12 years

Schedule: February 23 and 24 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

The art school this time will revolve around the works displayed in the temporary exhibition hall, under the title "Revello de Toro and His Family" where the private collection of the family will be exhibited. Each participant will have an explorer notebook to note down questions or curiosities they discover about the displayed works. The sessions will be highly practical, with thematic dynamics and games about the museum.

Historical Botanical Garden La Concepción

Workshop: White (and Green) Week Camp

Target audience: Children aged 4 to 12 years

Schedule: From February 23 to 27, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (with an option to continue until 3 PM).

The camp takes place outdoors, in direct contact with nature. From an environmental perspective, it combines exploration in nature, art, play, and the garden. Recommended for ages between 4 and 12 years.

Municipal Libraries

The Network of Public Municipal Libraries has designed a program of free activities for this week aimed at all audiences. Thus, these spaces will host family workshops on creative crafts related to books and reading at the Manuel Altolaguirre Library (Cruz del Humilladero), and the children's chess workshop at the Cristóbal Cuevas Library (Bailén- Miraflores).
