5th Care Fair: Health, Prevention and Self-Care in Málaga

The Official College of Nursing of Málaga will hold the fifth edition of its Care Fair (Bazar de los Cuidados) on Saturday, 3 October, transforming the outdoor area of El Corte Inglés on Avenida de Andalucía into a large public space dedicated to health, prevention and self-care.

From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, nursing professionals will run 14 themed stands, where visitors can ask questions, take part in practical activities and learn useful skills to look after their own health and support the people around them.

Activities will cover first aid and CPR, how to use a defibrillator, vaccination, respiratory health, diabetes and chronic diseases, healthy eating and sugar consumption, prevention of vaping, alcohol and energy drink use, bullying and cyberbullying, care for dependent people, active ageing and support during illness.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to discover less familiar areas of nursing, including the work of military nurses on humanitarian missions and projects developed by Solidaridad Enfermera.

The event is designed to be practical and participatory. Rather than simply listening, visitors will be encouraged to ask questions, practise and learn. Attendees can collect a Care Passport and visit the different stands, taking part in activities along the way.

First launched in 2022, the Care Fair has grown into an annual event promoting health education and reminding the public that prevention and self-care also take place outside hospitals and healthcare centres.
