Groups participate in the management of the Three Kings parades in Mijas

The Mijas Town Council has involved 19 local, social, sports, religious groups, and parent-teacher associations in the design and organization of the three Three Kings' parades, which will take place on January 5th. These groups will manage the registration of children participating in the 22 floats that will parade in Mijas Pueblo, Las Lagunas, and La Cala, as announced by the Council this Friday.

Thus, the Council highlighted in a statement that the aim of this decision by the Festivities department, led by councilwoman Silvia Marín, has been to increase the participation of the social fabric and to reach a larger number of participants in the parades, especially children, through parent and teacher associations, sports clubs, religious brotherhoods, and neighborhood associations.

Additionally, it was noted that this measure ensures the “aesthetic coherence” of the floats, as each of the organizations involved in their shared organization has been assigned a different thematic inspiration.

In this way, if the decoration of one of the floats is related to a religious scene from Bethlehem or superheroes, all the children will be dressed in related attire, explained the councilwoman.

Entities of the Mijas Town Council Festivities Board

All participating entities, 19 in total, are part of the Festivities Board of the Mijas Town Council, and have voluntarily been in charge of informing their respective areas of influence about the organization and registration for the confirmation of the floats.

Specifically, on January 5th, a total of 12 floats will parade in Las Lagunas, while in La Cala and Mijas Pueblo there will be five each. The participating parent-teacher associations in the organization of the parades are Fénix (Las Cañadas), El Coto, El Chaparral, Iberia (Virgen de la Peña), Mediterráneo (Los Campanales), and Calima (García del Olmo).

Additionally, the neighborhood associations Juncal, Nueva Laguna, Teatro Mijas, and Riviera; the association Mujeres de Nuestro Tiempo; the sports groups Peña Dorada, Club Deportivo Torreón, and Atletismo Mijas; the youth groups Grupo Joven Virgen de la Peña and Grupo Joven de La Cala; and the brotherhoods Jesús Vivo, Cristo de la Paz, and Jesus Nazareno have participated.

The departure time for the Three Kings' parade in Mijas Pueblo will be at 17:00 hours, while the parades in La Cala and Las Lagunas will start at 17:30 hours.
