Fuengirola libraries offer 25 reading clubs

This season, the Fuengirola library network offers up to 25 reading clubs. Spanish and Latin American Narrative, Contemporary Narrative, Comics, Easy Reading, Historical Narrative, ... Romantic Narrative, Asian Narrative, Poetry, Musical Genres, or Cinema are some of the themes of these groups, with new additions this year including an Essay and Poetry reading club, as well as the Passengers' Readings club, for those who want to try the experience of belonging to one of these literary circles.

Additionally, there are also three youth narrative clubs in affiliated centers, which are distributed in different educational centers of the city so that it is not necessary to travel to the libraries. Those who do can find options available at each of the three municipal libraries. The clubs meet fortnightly, monthly, or quarterly, depending on the literary circle chosen.

"Reading is a very intimate act because it is a conversation between the author and you, interpreting what they are trying to say, but when suddenly reading becomes a group action, in which a chapter has been read and is discussed or delved into the motivations of the characters or the historical context of the work, reading is enriched exponentially," points out the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero.

The registration period opens today, September 1st at 10:00 AM online and ends on the 7th at 11:59 PM. Each person can only register for one club, except for the Film and Music club, which can be combined with another. On the 11th, a second registration period will open with available spots, both for new interested parties and for registrations in a second literary circle.
