In the heart of Málaga, the English Cemetery hosts what is becoming one of the city's major cultural events once a month, one of the most anticipated: the English Market. This market, which combines tradition, culture, and entertainment, is much more than a typical market; it is a unique experience where visitors can enjoy live music, delicious food from food trucks, and a stroll through an emblematic and charming location.

The English Market is carving out a niche for itself each month among Málaga's cultural and leisure attractions leisure in Málaga, especially because of the setting and backdrop where it is held, this English Cemetery with so much magic. With editions that adapt to the rhythm of the seasons, each version offers something special for attendees. From the morning market ideal for enjoying the sunshine, to the evening editions where the lighting and atmosphere create a magical environment.

In fact, it will be this upcoming Saturday, November 23, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, when the English Cemetery will open its doors for Malagueños and visitors to explore a carefully selected assortment of handicrafts, vintage decor, second-hand books, ceramics, and unique products noted for their originality. Additionally, in these latest editions, a series of food trucks have joined to complete the leisure offer with gastronomy for all tastes.

A Walk Through History

While enjoying the market, you can also take the opportunity to explore the English Cemetery, the oldest non-Catholic necropolis in the Iberian Peninsula. Declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in 2012 and a member of the Association of Significant Cemeteries in Europe (ASCE), this space combines history, art, and nature. Among its corners, notable graves include that of the founder William Mark, Annie Plews, known as the angel of the English cemetery, or that of the British doctor Joseph William Noble.

Thanks to the efforts of the English Cemetery Foundation, which has been managing this space since 2006, the cemetery has seen a notable increase in its cultural activity, attracting both locals and tourists. Its program includes events such as the successful Nights of the English, which last summer brought together more than 25,000 people in concerts, guided tours, and outdoor screenings.
