The forecast at Cervantes predicts a week of musical Terral

A week of musical Terral is approaching at the Cervantes Theater. Once again, the summer festival marks the beginning of the summer season: it starts this Sunday on the theater's stage with Tony Ann on piano and will continue until next Sunday the 29th, when it will conclude with the magic and magnetism of Valeria Castro's voice. Seven days in which Terral and Cervantes will once again showcase their eclecticism; though the music in the neighborhoods continues with the free cycle 'Terral... in your area', which started last June 6 and will also end on Sunday the 29th. This new edition of Terral once again features the collaboration of the 'la Caixa' Foundation.

This evening at 8:30 PM (all Terral concerts at Cervantes take place at this time), there is a full house at Cervantes with the virtuosity of Tony Ann on piano, who will blend contemporary and classical styles. With over six million followers on social media, the pianist has introduced younger generations to neoclassical music through his #playthatword series. A great show is expected today at Cervantes with Tony Ann, who has sold out tickets in Malaga as well as in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Madrid, Barcelona, and Tokyo.

Terral continues on Monday with Cimafunk on the world tour of his album 'Pa' tu cuerpa', which will offer an authentic Afro-Cuban show after being nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 2025 Grammys. On stage, he will be accompanied by the members of his band La Tribu, nine musicians from Havana who complete the proposal with classic Cuban rhythms such as timba and trova mixed with funk, afrobeat, and hip hop. Tuesday will be the turn of Incognito with their nineteenth album 'Into you', confirming that since 1979 the band has been present in the international music scene with a touch of 'acid jazz', a fundamentally acoustic proposal perfect for lovers of black music with reminiscences of the 70s and the modernity of the 90s.

"There is no new fado, it is a living language that transforms with the generations and the way fadistas believe in their culture," says Carminho, who will present her new album 'Portuguesa' on Wednesday the 25th at Cervantes. The author has collaborated with Malaga's Pablo Alborán on hits like 'Perdóname', the song that made her the first Portuguese artist to reach number one on the Spanish music charts.

Tribute to flamenco and tribute to Manuel Alejandro. Both will be experienced with the concert by Manuel Lombo, a show he has prepared for Thursday with almost sold-out tickets under the name 'De Manuel a Manuel with the piano of Chico Pérez'. The artist performs a broad journey through all the eras of one of the great composers, a tribute to the man from Jerez and his colossal successes and figures who popularized him. The festival's programming will continue on Friday with Grupo Compay Segundo and their 'Vívelo tour', which has toured every corner of the world. To the group's songs will be added anthems like 'Macusa', 'Sabroso', 'Las flores de la vida', 'La negra Tomasa', and the legendary 'Chan Chan'.

The final stretch of the Terral festival is named after women. On Saturday the 28th, Nikki Hill will be on the Cervantes stage with her ingenious and extravagant energy. From North Carolina comes the artist, considered the new queen of soul, who will showcase her own fusion of the styles that accompanied her since childhood: R&B, soul, pop, and hip hop. The final touch to the programming is provided by Valeria Castro, who has hung the 'sold out' sign for her concert on Sunday the 29th. The young artist will present 'El cuerpo después de todo', her second work that marks an exercise in artistic and personal maturation.

The free concerts in the neighborhoods have been taking place for several weeks thanks to the parallel cycle of this festival, 'Terral... in your area'. The starting signal was given by El Zurdo Trío on June 6 in Teatinos and it will close again with the same Malaga group on Sunday the 29th in Bulevar José Iturbi.

There are still concerts to enjoy and all are held at 8:30 PM. This very Sunday the 22nd, The Lito Blues Band will perform their extensive repertoire at the Eduardo Ocón venue; on Friday the 27th, Tonia Rodríguez will present her album 'Sueños cantados' with a personal fusion of pop and jazz; on Saturday the 28th, Dan Shiva Da Machine will merge rap in Neapolitan, Spanish, and English with electronics, jazz, and experimental music in San Rafael Park. To culminate this free cycle, the energy of El Zurdo Trío will fill Bulevar José Iturbi, in Bailén-Miraflores, on Sunday the 29th.
