Former Málaga Soho Car Park to Become a Gym with MMA and Women’s Training Area
French fitness chain On Air is preparing a new gym at 12 Calle San Lorenzo. The facility will include strength training, cardio, hybrid workouts, boxing, MMA and dedicated training areas for women.
A New Use for the Former Garaje Málaga
The former Garaje Málaga in the Soho district will exchange parked vehicles for fitness equipment. The property at 12 Calle San Lorenzo is being transformed into a new gym operated by French chain On Air Fitness.
Renovation work has been under way for several weeks, and some of the equipment is already being installed. The club is currently listed as being in its pre-opening stage, although an official opening date has not yet been announced.
The project will bring the building back into use after several years of inactivity. Before its conversion into a gym, the premises operated as a car park and hosted different cultural and commercial initiatives connected to the Soho district.
Strength, Cardio and Hybrid Training
The club will feature areas for free weights and strength training, guided resistance machines and cardiovascular exercise.
A hybrid training space will also be equipped for suspension exercises, battle ropes, kettlebells and other equipment commonly used in functional and high-intensity workouts.
The gym will use equipment from specialist brands including Hammer Strength, Technogym, Eleiko, Gym80 and Life Fitness.
MMA Mat and Boxing Ring
One of the main features distinguishing the new club from a conventional gym will be its dedicated combat sports facilities.
The venue will include an MMA training mat and a boxing ring. These spaces will operate alongside the strength, cardio and general conditioning areas.
On Air presents its concept as a combination of sport, music and design, with different environments created for specific types of training.
Women’s Training and Booty Areas
The gym will also include a dedicated Ladies Area and a separate space called the Booty Area.
These sections will organise equipment and exercises around different goals and training preferences. Individual showers and lockers will be available without an additional charge, while a mobile application will provide training programmes and activity tracking.
Pre-Opening Memberships Available
On Air has already opened early registration for its Soho club. The initial offer is limited to the first 250 members and includes free registration and a weekly fee of €7.99, with no annual commitment.
The standard weekly rate is expected to be €9.99. The Ultra plan will cost €10.99 and allow members to share their access card with another person from the same household, subject to the subscription conditions.
Promotional rates may change once the available places have been filled or the club officially opens.
On Air’s Second Gym in Málaga
The Soho venue will become On Air’s second gym in Málaga. The chain already operates another club at 39 Calle Armengual de la Mota.
The new location will offer a broader selection of training areas, particularly with the addition of MMA, boxing, hybrid workouts and dedicated women’s spaces.
The club remains in pre-opening, and the company has not yet confirmed the exact date on which it will begin welcoming members.
