Fiestas de la Victoria 2026 in Málaga: El Kanka, María Peláe, Carlos Sadness, a traditional street party and workshops this weekend

Málaga is heading into one of the most musical weekends of the late summer with the Fiestas de la Victoria 2026, a new programme that expands the celebrations traditionally linked to Nuestra Señora de la Victoria, the patron saint of the city.

8 September remains the central date of the celebration in Málaga and is a local public holiday, but this year the festivities have been extended beyond their traditional religious setting with a cultural and leisure programme taking place over the preceding days.

The new Fiestas de la Victoria run from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September and include concerts, electronic music, popular culture, gastronomy, workshops and a traditional street party.

The programme began on Thursday night at the Cervezas Victoria Brewery with Besmaya, but the main events are concentrated between Friday and Sunday.

Carlos Sadness, El Kanka, María Peláe, Tabletom, Alizzz DJ Set, Javypablo, Sike and M.E.M.O. are among the artists appearing across the different venues.

Sunday will bring a change of pace, with a workshop dedicated to one of Málaga’s most recognisable symbols and a free daytime celebration at Parque San Rafael designed to revive the atmosphere of traditional neighbourhood fiestas.

When are the Fiestas de la Victoria in Málaga in 2026?

The special programme takes place from 3 to 6 September 2026.

Rather than concentrating everything in one venue, the celebrations move around different parts of Málaga over the four days.

Each day has its own setting and atmosphere:

• Thursday 3 September: Cervezas Victoria Brewery.
• Friday 4 September: La Térmica.
• Saturday 5 September: La Malagueta Bullring.

Carlos Sadness and electronic music take over La Térmica on Friday

On Friday 4 September, the Fiestas de la Victoria move to La Térmica.

The evening will focus mainly on indie, pop and electronic music, with a line-up featuring Carlos Sadness, Alizzz DJ Set, Sike, Victorias, DJ Felipe, M.E.M.O. and Nur Nur live.

Carlos Sadness will be one of the most recognisable names on Friday’s bill.

The Barcelona-born artist has built a career closely linked to indie pop and arrives in Málaga as part of a programme designed to combine established performers with acts from different contemporary scenes.

Electronic music will also play an important role.

Alizzz will appear with his DJ Set, while Málaga producer M.E.M.O. will feature both under his own name and through Nur Nur, a project developed alongside Mønölitio.

La Malagueta brings together El Kanka, María Peláe and Tabletom on Saturday

The night most closely connected with Málaga artists will come on Saturday 5 September.

The Fiestas de la Victoria will move to La Malagueta Bullring, one of the largest venues included in the programme.

The evening will bring together different generations of performers and different approaches to songwriting, flamenco, rumba and popular music.

El Kanka returns to perform in his home city

Among the main names on Saturday’s programme is El Kanka, one of the Málaga-born singer-songwriters to achieve the greatest national and international recognition in recent decades.

Juan Gómez Canca has built a career around a distinctive mix of singer-songwriter traditions, rumba, southern rhythms, pop and elements of Latin American music.

His appearance at the Fiestas de la Victoria also has a strong local connection.

The concert offers Málaga audiences another chance to see an artist born in the city as part of an event specifically intended to highlight elements of local culture and identity.

María Peláe brings her distinctive take on flamenco to La Malagueta

María Peláe will also be one of Saturday night’s leading performers.

The Málaga-born singer and songwriter has developed a distinctive style in which flamenco combines with humour, social commentary and a contemporary interpretation of popular music.

She will share the stage with El Kanka, Tabletom and Javypablo in one of the most Málaga-focused nights of the entire programme.

Tabletom connects the festival with several generations of Málaga music

The presence of Tabletom adds another dimension to the line-up.

The band forms part of Málaga’s musical history and represents a different generation from artists such as El Kanka and María Peláe.

Their distinctive combination of flamenco, rock and other influences made them one of the most unusual groups to emerge from Andalucía.

Bringing Tabletom together with younger Málaga artists on the same evening also turns Saturday’s concert into a small journey through different periods of music created in the city.

Sunday begins with a workshop on how to make a biznaga

After two nights focused mainly on concerts, the programme changes direction on Sunday 6 September.

At 11:00 am, the Cervezas Victoria Brewery will host a workshop dedicated to the biznaga, one of Málaga’s most recognisable cultural symbols.

Participants will learn about its history and discover how this traditional floral arrangement, made using jasmine flowers, is prepared.

The activity also includes a tour of the brewery followed by a beer tasting.

Tickets cost €15 and, because the event takes place inside the Cervezas Victoria Brewery, it is restricted to adults aged 18 and over.

It is one of the activities that most clearly reflects the aim of the new festival: combining contemporary music with traditions closely associated with Málaga.

Parque San Rafael revives the atmosphere of a traditional street party on Sunday

After the workshop, attention will shift to Parque San Rafael, in the Cruz de Humilladero district.

The park will host La Verbena, one of the most popular events in the programme and, unlike the main concerts, it will offer free admission.

Activities begin from 12:00 noon and aim to recreate the spirit of traditional neighbourhood celebrations where music, food and community life all shared centre stage.

Performers will include María Oliva, Lidia Gómez and Raquel Framit, alongside other acts.

The event will also allow the Fiestas de la Victoria to reach a different audience from the ticketed night-time concerts.

While La Térmica and La Malagueta are designed as major music events, Parque San Rafael will operate as an open and informal daytime space for the wider public.

Four venues for four different ways to celebrate Málaga

One of the main characteristics of this first major programme is its distribution around the city.

There is no single festival site.

The Cervezas Victoria Brewery, on Avenida de Velázquez, hosts the more experiential and gastronomic activities.

La Térmica, on Avenida de los Guindos, receives Friday’s pop, indie and electronic programme.

La Malagueta Bullring is reserved for Saturday’s major night featuring El Kanka, María Peláe, Tabletom and Javypablo.

Finally, Parque San Rafael becomes the most open and participatory venue on Sunday.

This distribution also allows the celebrations to reach different districts instead of remaining exclusively in Málaga’s Historic Centre.

Can children attend the concerts?

Access conditions depend on the venue.

La Térmica and La Malagueta Bullring are open to all audiences, although specific conditions apply to under-18s and only a limited number of tickets are available for younger attendees.

Due to the characteristics of the venue, children and teenagers under 18 are not permitted to enter, even when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

This restriction therefore also applies to Sunday’s biznaga workshop.
