The Málaga Fair 2026 has another major event this Thursday 20 August at La Malagueta bullring. From 7pm, Morante de la Puebla, Diego Urdiales and Fortes will face six bulls from the Núñez del Cuvillo ranch.
The event forms part of the Málaga Bullfighting Fair and will also be one of the final bullfights of the week available to watch live on television.

Who is bullfighting in Málaga today?
The line-up for Thursday 20 August brings together three matadors with very different styles and backgrounds.
Morante de la Puebla is one of the headline names. The celebrated Seville-born matador has two appearances scheduled during the final days of Málaga’s bullfighting programme and will return to La Malagueta on Saturday 22 August.
He will be joined by Diego Urdiales, known for his classical approach to bullfighting, and Málaga-born Fortes, who returns to perform in front of his home crowd.
The three will face bulls from Núñez del Cuvillo, one of the best-known ranches on Spain’s major bullfighting circuit.
What time does today’s bullfight at La Malagueta start?
The event begins at 7pm this Thursday.
It will take place at La Malagueta bullring, located beside Málaga’s seafront and within walking distance of the Historic Centre.

On Friday 21 August, also at 7pm, bulls from Victorino Martín are scheduled for Manuel Escribano, Emilio de Justo and Fortes.
Saturday will bring one of the most significant events of the programme.
To mark the 150th anniversary of La Malagueta, an extraordinary bullfight is scheduled for 22 August, featuring Morante de la Puebla, Roca Rey and David de Miranda, with three bulls from Torrealta and three from Garcigrande.
All three events are scheduled to be shown on Canal Sur.
Morante returns to La Malagueta on Saturday
Morante de la Puebla’s involvement in the Málaga Fair does not end with Thursday’s appearance.
He is also scheduled to return on Saturday 22 August, sharing the bill with Roca Rey and David de Miranda for the special event commemorating the bullring’s 150th anniversary.
That gives Morante two appearances in Málaga during the final days of the Fair, while Fortes is also due to return on Friday alongside Manuel Escribano and Emilio de Justo.
The Málaga Bullfighting Fair enters its final stretch
Bullfighting remains part of the extensive programme surrounding the Málaga Fair, which runs from 15 to 22 August in 2026.

This Thursday, attention turns to Morante de la Puebla, Diego Urdiales and Fortes from 7pm, whether watching from inside La Malagueta or following the event at home on Canal Sur.
