El Corte Inglés opens a new Club del Gourmet in Mijas with a specialised wine cellar and tasting bar
The space, covering almost 500 square metres, includes a wide selection of national and international products, Andalusian references and a Gourmet Bar with capacity for 65 people.
El Corte Inglés in Costa Mijas has added a new Club del Gourmet to its commercial offer, a space designed to strengthen the gastronomic experience on the Costa del Sol. The opening represents a further step in the evolution of the Mijas centre, which expands its proposal with a format focused on premium products, specialised advice and tasting experiences within the store.
The new space covers close to 500 square metres and brings together national and international products in a modern, spacious setting designed both for shopping and for discovering new gastronomic references.
A wine cellar with a strong Andalusian presence
One of the main features of the new Club del Gourmet is its specialised wine cellar, offering a broad selection of wines from Spain’s leading designations of origin. Andalusian wines and regional producers will have a prominent presence, alongside international labels, champagnes, sparkling wines and other selected drinks.
The proposal is aimed both at wine enthusiasts and more experienced customers, with a professional team on hand to guide shoppers and recommend products, wines and pairings according to their tastes and needs.
Gourmet products, sweet and savoury specialities, and international flavours
The gastronomic journey continues with an area dedicated to national and international cheeses, Iberian products, cured meats, smoked products, preserves and other specialities. The offer combines major references from Spanish gastronomy with local, regional and international proposals.
The space also gives special attention to the world of sweets, with artisan chocolates, bean-to-bar products, pastries, biscuits, traditional sweets and international specialities. Extra virgin olive oils, vinegars, fish and seafood preserves, snacks, sauces, condiments, rice, pasta and prepared dishes are also part of the selection.
The Gourmet Bar, one of the main new features
One of the key additions is the Gourmet Bar, a tasting area with capacity for 65 people. Designed as a cold bar, it will offer oysters, cheeses, cured meats, preserves, pinchos and other gourmet specialities, accompanied by a carefully selected wine and champagne list.
This new area seeks to combine shopping and tasting in the same experience, bringing the product closer to the customer and turning the visit into a complete gastronomic proposal.
Mijas gains importance in El Corte Inglés’ strategy
The opening of the Club del Gourmet forms part of the wider expansion and full reopening process of the Mijas centre. According to the information published about the project, the store will move from operating with three floors open to the public to recovering its full activity, increasing its commercial area from 14,500 square metres to more than 22,000 square metres.
This expansion is part of El Corte Inglés’ commitment to strengthening its presence on the Costa del Sol, one of its strategic markets. The Mijas centre serves a stable population of around 250,000 people, while during peak tourist periods its area of influence approaches half a million.
A new destination for food lovers
With this opening, the Club del Gourmet at Costa Mijas is presented as a space where product, knowledge, tasting and personalised service come together. The proposal reinforces the municipality’s commercial offer and adds a new attraction for residents, visitors and lovers of quality gastronomy.
