Málaga Provincial Council hosts ‘Presencias 61. Sustainable Art’, a collective exhibition by APLAMA
The Pacífico 54 exhibition space brings together 48 works by Málaga artists or creators based in the province in a new edition of ‘Presencias’, this time dedicated to sustainable art.
The Pacífico 54 exhibition space of Málaga Provincial Council is hosting a new edition of ‘Presencias’, the collective exhibition promoted by the Association of Visual Artists of Málaga, APLAMA. This edition is titled ‘Sustainable Art’ and brings together 48 works by multidisciplinary artists linked to the province.
The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the relationship between artistic creation, environmental awareness and new visual languages. Through different techniques, sizes and formats, the participating artists offer diverse perspectives on sustainability through contemporary art.
A new edition of an established cultural event
‘Presencias’ has become one of APLAMA’s most recognisable collective exhibitions. The association brings together visual artists from Málaga and maintains an active role in promoting local talent.
The 61st edition strengthens this trajectory with a theme closely connected to the present: sustainability. Here, art is presented not only as an aesthetic expression, but also as a tool for thinking about the environment, materials, consumption, the human footprint and the need for new ways of inhabiting the world.
Contemporary art with a sustainable perspective
The exhibition features works by Málaga artists or creators living in the province, with proposals covering different disciplines. The result is a varied show where different styles, media and approaches coexist.
Under the concept of ‘Sustainable Art’, the pieces engage with issues such as respect for the environment, reuse, the memory of materials, nature, landscape and collective responsibility in the face of today’s ecological challenges.
Pacífico 54, a showcase for Málaga art
The Provincial Council’s exhibition space at Pacífico 54 once again acts as a meeting point for local art. Its programme helps bring collective and individual projects closer to the public and gives visibility to artists from the province in an institutional space open to citizens.
The collaboration between Málaga Provincial Council and APLAMA reinforces the role of these venues as platforms for contemporary creation and as places of connection between artists, audiences and Málaga’s cultural scene.
An exhibition open until September
The exhibition can be visited at Pacífico 54 from 23 July to 11 September, with free admission. This gives both residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a cultural proposal during the summer that combines art, reflection and environmental commitment.
