The first weekend of July brings a packed schedule of events to Málaga and the Costa del Sol. Between Friday, 3 July and Sunday, 5 July 2026, residents and visitors can choose from major concerts, musicals, comedy shows, traditional celebrations and free films by the sea.

‘The Phantom of the Opera’ begins its Málaga run

One of the summer’s biggest cultural events will begin on Friday, 3 July at Teatro Cervantes in Málaga.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s celebrated musical The Phantom of the Opera will open a six-week run in the city. The production will offer 45 performances until 9 August, with Daniel Diges, Ana San Martín and Rubén López in the leading roles.

The opening performance on Friday will begin at 9:00 pm. Two shows will take place on Saturday, at 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm, followed by further afternoon and evening performances on Sunday.

The musical combines romance, mystery and a large-scale stage production centred on Christine Daaé and the enigmatic figure living beneath the Paris Opera House.

Tickets range from €22 to €75, depending on the seating area selected inside the theatre.

Gipsy Kings bring their international flamenco sound to Marbella

Starlite Occident will begin its weekend programme with Gipsy Kings featuring Nicolas Reyes on Friday, 3 July.

The group will return to the Cantera de Nagüeles Auditorium with its unmistakable blend of flamenco, pop, Latin rhythms and Mediterranean sounds.

Audiences will hear songs from a career that has taken flamenco rumba to stages around the world and made the group internationally recognised.

Doors will open at 8:00 pm and the concert will begin at 10:00 pm. Visitors under 18 may attend but must leave the venue once the performance has ended.

Danny Ocean performs at Starlite on Saturday

Starlite’s programme will continue on Saturday, 4 July with Danny Ocean, one of the leading artists in Latin pop and urban music.

The Venezuelan singer will return to Marbella with a set featuring songs such as Me rehúso, Dembow, Fuera del mercado, Vuelve and Imagínate.

His music combines pop, reggaeton, R&B and electronic influences, making the concert one of the weekend’s most attractive options for younger audiences.

Doors will open at 8:00 pm and the show will begin at 10:00 pm at the Starlite Occident Auditorium.

Pablo López returns home for a concert in Fuengirola

Marenostrum Fuengirola will host one of the most emotional events of its season on Friday, 3 July.

Pablo López, who was born in Fuengirola, will perform his first concert on the venue’s main stage beside Sohail Castle.

The performance forms part of the tour connected to his new musical project, El Niño del Espacio, and marks the artist’s return to the town where he grew up.

The concert will have seated admission. Doors will open at 8:00 pm and the performance will begin at 10:00 pm.

Tickets start at €55, including taxes and booking fees. Visitors under 16 must attend with an adult and present the corresponding authorisation.

Dani Fernández brings his tour to Marenostrum Fuengirola

On Saturday, 4 July, Dani Fernández will take over Marenostrum’s Escenario Unicaja with his La Insurrección Tour.

The singer will perform the songs that have made him one of the most popular voices in contemporary Spanish pop, combining energetic tracks with more intimate compositions.

The main standing area will be open, while ticket holders will also have access to the seating stands. Doors will open at 7:30 pm and the concert will begin at 10:00 pm.

Tickets are available from €49.50. Visitors under 16 must attend with a responsible adult, while those aged 16 or 17 may enter without an adult but must present an authorisation form.

Free outdoor cinema in several Málaga neighbourhoods

Anyone looking for a free plan can attend one of the Cine Abierto screenings, Málaga’s summer cinema programme organised by the City Council through the Málaga Film Festival.

The programme for Friday, 3 July includes a morning screening of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 at 11:00 am at Cine Albéniz.

In the evening, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will be shown at 10:15 pm on La Malagueta beach. At the same time, Plaza de Tabacalera will host Undercover, starring Carolina Yuste and Luis Tosar.

La Cala del Moral Fair continues until Sunday

The La Cala del Moral Fair will continue throughout the weekend in Plaza de La Laguna.

On Friday, 3 July, the programme will include children’s activities, dance group performances and live music. Evening entertainment will feature Malabares with a tribute to Estopa, a performance by Electroduendes and a session of nostalgic dance music.

Saturday will begin at 9:00 am with a traditional jábega boat regatta. During the afternoon and evening, Coro Aires Marineros, El Pino and Money Makers will perform. The main concert of the day will be given by Nolasco at 11:00 pm.

Sunday will focus particularly on families and local traditions. The programme includes traditional games, activities for older residents, children’s entertainment and a community paella at 3:00 pm.

The fair will end with musical performances, a street band and a closing show beginning at 10:00 pm.

Puerto de la Torre Fair brings music and tradition to Málaga

Another free option is the Puerto de la Torre Fair, which continues until Sunday, 5 July at the district’s fairground in Málaga.

Friday’s programme will begin with a dance school festival at 8:00 pm. Performances by Imperio Reina and Modestia Aparte will follow before Orquesta Metrópolis closes the evening.

Saturday will include a horse-drawn carriage exhibition in Parque Andrés Jiménez Díaz, children’s activities and the election of the children’s fair queen and king.

Music will continue with a Manuel Carrasco tribute at 10:30 pm and a performance by Miguel Campello at midnight.

An outdoor comedy night in Coín

Coín’s Noches con Encanto Festival will offer an evening of comedy on Saturday, 4 July at the Parque Leonor Princesa de Asturias Auditorium.

La Noche es Comedia will be hosted by Macarena Gómez and Nacho Guerreros, both known for their work in film and television.

The line-up features Tomás García, Eva y Qué, Xavier Deltell and Jorge García, who will perform a selection of stand-up routines and live comedy sketches.
