Through works from the museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibition, participants will discover how navigation has been used to explore new territories, develop trade and learn more about the natural world.

The programme will combine gallery visits with games, group activities and creative workshops led by the museum’s education team.

The sessions will take place from June 29 to July 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will be divided into two age groups:

• From June 29 to July 3, for children aged 5 to 8.
• From July 6 to 10, for children aged 7 to 12.

La Concepción Launches a Theatrical Evening Tour

La Concepción Historical Botanical Garden is adding a new summer experience that combines history, fantasy and nature.

On Friday, June 26, at 9:00 p.m., the garden will premiere “La Concepción en el tiempo, entre siglos y semillas”, a theatrical tour designed to introduce adults and children to the history of this well-known Málaga landmark.

During the visit, characters connected to La Concepción’s past will appear along the garden paths, guiding visitors through some of its most distinctive areas and sharing stories about the estate.

After the opening night, the activity will also take place on July 11 and 16, August 8 and 27, and September 3.

Four Days of Free Puppet Shows in Málaga

The Eduardo Ocón open-air venue in Málaga’s Paseo del Parque will host the city’s Puppet Festival from June 25 to 28.

All performances will begin at 12:00 noon and admission will be free until full capacity is reached. The programme is mainly aimed at children and families and will feature companies from different parts of Spain.

The festival will begin on Thursday, June 25, with “Historias Titiriteras” by Proyecto Caravana. The show presents several stories from the perspective of a baby, using glove puppets and live music.

On Friday, June 26, Francis Zafrilla will perform “¡Que vivan los amigos!”, a production combining characters, songs, comedy and different styles of puppetry.

Málaga-based company Los Títeres de Miguel Pino will present “Peneque y la partitura perdida de Eduardo Ocón” on Saturday, June 27. The interactive adventure will introduce younger audiences to the life and music of Málaga composer Eduardo Ocón.

The festival will close on Sunday, June 28, with “Pepín y el fantasma” by La Nube Teatro. The story explores friendship, confidence and overcoming fear.

A Summer Camp for Learning to Surf

Families looking for a sporting activity by the sea can consider the summer camp organised by Beach Club Malakite at Campo de Golf-La Cizaña beach.

The camp runs in weekly blocks from Monday to Friday, between June 22 and September 11. It is designed for children and teenagers aged 7 to 18.

Activities take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and include surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, Big SUP and beach games. The aim is to introduce participants to different water sports in a supervised environment adapted to their age and ability.
