Higuerón Resort Hosts the Senior Beach Volleyball Spanish Championship in August

Higuerón Resort will host the Senior Spanish Beach Volleyball Championship for the thirteenth consecutive year. The best male and female pairs in the country will compete to ... claim the title of national beach volleyball champions from August 27 to 30 in an event supported by the Andalusian Government, the Malaga Provincial Council, and the Fuengirola City Council.

The event was attended by the president of the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation, Felipe Pascual, Víctor Romero, Head of Sports Strategy, and Jose Ignacio Zambrano, Head of the Department of Promotion and Sports Communication, both from Tourism and Sports of Andalusia, Luis García, Director of Marketing and Institutional Relations at Higuerón Resort, and Lucas Altamira – Director of Partnerships and Sponsorships at Siroko.

The Spanish Championship is part of the official calendar of the National Beach Volleyball Circuit. Higuerón Resort in Fuengirola has been the venue since 2013, where the top national pairs according to the ranking of the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation (RFEVB) and the current year's regional champions will compete.

In the last edition held, Alejandro Huerta and Adrián Gavira were crowned Spanish champions in the men's category, while in the women's category, the top spot on the podium went to Ana Vergara and Tania Moreno.

Night Competition

A new feature in this edition will be the competition schedule extending until 11:00 PM with night lighting, evolving the event's concept to allow the public to enjoy the best summer sport and a festive atmosphere with music, dining, and various surprises.

The venue, Higuerón Resort, will be able to count on its ambassador, the Malaga native Sofia González, Spanish Champion in 2024 and three-time Queen's Cup Champion, as well as a member of the Spanish national team and currently pursuing her career at the Los Angeles Olympics. Also competing will be ambassadors Javier and Joaquín Bello, brothers born in Spain who currently compete for England and are in the top 10 of the world ranking in 2025.

The Andalusian Government's stand has also been a networking space for Andalusian companies working in the sports industry, which are taking firm steps together with the Andalusian Government towards the establishment of the sports industry cluster in Andalusia.
