The Detente y Ayuda (DYA) association will receive a grant of 180,000 euros from municipal funds in 2026 to provide essential food aid and hygiene products to vulnerable people in Marbella. DYA offers financial assistance that was initiated due to the health crisis caused by the coronavirus. This assistance is provided through purchase vouchers with a defined monetary value ranging from 100 to 150 euros depending on the members of the household. Through wallet cards, beneficiary families can purchase basic items, including meat, fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables, in a system that operates through agreements with various supermarkets. "Just after Covid, many families were left without work, and over the years, we have been adapting the aid according to the needs of the population of Marbella. It is a very easy subsidy to apply for and receive," says Paqui Muñoz, the manager of DYA in the province of Málaga. DYA assists around 150 families in Marbella.
